“By the time they reach us at the college level, Waldorf students possess the eye of a discoverer, and the compassionate heart of a reformer, which, when joined to a task, can change the planet.” —Arthur Zajonc, PhD, Amherst College physics professor
ABOUT THE WALDORF SCHOOL OF PRINCETON We are a coeducational, nonsectarian independent institution with enrollment from early childhood through eighth grade. In 2013, we turned 30 years young, kicking off a new decade as the only Waldorf school bringing this unique form of education to families in New Jersey. Our school opened its doors in 1983, but is part of a much older tradition. Austrian-born philosopher and educator Dr. Rudolf Steiner founded the first Waldorf school in 1919 in Stuttgart, Germany, for the children of the WaldorfAstoria factory. There are now more than 1,000 independent Waldorf schools worldwide, as well as many public and charter schools using Waldorf methods. Waldorf Education is as revolutionary today as it was more than 90 years ago. Its multisensory approach and innovative curriculum embody characteristics that modern educators are seeking in their efforts toward reform. Our aim is to help students grow into creative, motivated, and self-confident young adults who can create their own purpose and direction.
ABOUT OUR SUMMER CAMP For more than 20 years, Waldorf School of Princeton has been offering unique summer camp sessions that nourish children's inherent connections to nature! Activities for campers ages 4-13 include crafts, drama, water play, bread baking, painting, gardening, and nature walks on our 20-acre campus. Three twoweek sessions are offered this year, June 27–August 5. Details are available at our Information Table or online at www.princetonwaldorf.org/ourcommunity/summer-camp. For more information about Waldorf Education and all of our programs for children birth through eighth grade, please visit the Information Table located in front of the Golden House, or explore us online at www.princetonwaldorf.org.
