Weekend Lane Closures to Expedite Express Lane Opening Ramp Closure at RM 2222 May Impact UT Football Fans (Austin, Texas) – Drivers heading to the University of Texas football game and other local events this weekend, should be prepared for lane and ramp closures on State Loop 1 (MoPac), that could impact their travel plans. Various lanes and ramps will be closed in both directions between RM 2222 (Northland Drive) and Enfield Road from 10:00 p.m. Friday, September 8th to no later than 6:00 a.m. on Monday, September 11th. The closures are needed so crews can pave sections of the highway in preparation for opening the new Express Lanes. The following are the planned closures: •

Southbound: o

Right lane and far right auxiliary exit lane on southbound MoPac closed between RM 2222 and 45th Street

(The center lane will also be closed between RM 2222 and 45th Street from 8:00 p.m. Saturday to 10:00 a.m. Sunday and from 7:00 p.m. Sunday until 5:00 a.m. Monday)

Northbound: o

Left lane closed on northbound MoPac between Enfield Road and RM 2222

Drivers wishing to access southbound MoPac from RM 2222 (Northland Drive) will be detoured onto northbound MoPac. They will use the Far West Boulevard exit to be able to reach southbound MoPac. Police officers will be on duty all weekend at the RM 2222 intersection to ensure traffic flows smoothly. Additional lane and ramp closures may take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night during normal closure times frames. Those closures will be posted each afternoon at mopacexpress.com. ###
