[email protected] Abstract The use of technology in teaching learning process, especially language learning is very important because it can improve student motivation and improve student learning outcomes. Power point is the easiest technology to use. We can incorporate different elements into a power point media such as images, audio, and audio-visual. To determine the effectiveness of power point, the experimental research was conducted on language courses in French 1 at Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta. The researcher used printed media to teach control class and power point to teach experimental class. The results of this study indicated that the use of power point in learning French language is more effective than the use of printed media.
