MEDICAL RADIOGRAPHY SAN JACINTO COLLEGE Students applying for admission to the Radiography Program must complete the following: (1) Attendance at one information session is MANDATORY for admission. Located in C11.1081 Health Science Building – Central Campus Meeting Dates and Times: Thursday – January 3, 2013 – 3:30 p.m. Tuesday – February 26, 2013 – 1:30 p.m. (just added) Thursday – February 28, 2013 – 1:30 p.m. **CANCELED** Thursday – April 25, 2013 – 1:30 p.m. Tuesday – May 14, 2013 – 3:30 p.m. (2) Apply for admission to San Jacinto College via our website at http://sanjac.edu/apply (3) Official Transcripts: (A) High school graduates and GED recipients, never having attended college, must have an official transcript from their high school or GED testing center mailed directly to the Central Campus Office of Enrollment Services. Applicants enrolled in their senior year of high school should contact the Central Campus Office of Enrollment Services regarding transcript requirements. (B) College transcripts – Applicants have two options when submitting official transcripts. You can either hand deliver an official seal transcript (must be issued within the last 60 days) or request your former colleges/universities send an official transcript directly to the Office of Enrollment Services. Transcripts should be requested as soon as possible; do not wait until the application period beginning dates of April 1st or September 1st to request transcripts. All courses completed outside the San Jacinto College District must be evaluated by Enrollment Services.
(4) Completion of the following prerequisite courses: BIOL2401 A&P I BIOL2402 A&P II ENGL1301 MATH1314 or MATH1333 RADR1201 (will be available Summer 2013) *Students selected for the fall 2013 only, will be allowed to take BIOL2402 A&PII and RADR1201 while enrolled in the Medical Radiography Program. However, it is the best interest of the student to complete these courses before selection to the program. (5) HESI A2 Exam (Official test scores) – A cumulative score of 70% and a score of 70% in EACH section is required. The Learning Styles & Physics sections is also required but will not be used in determining admission. (6) Your criminal background check and urine drug screen are to be completed prior to admission into the Medical Radiography Program PreCheck, Inc. and Deer Park Family Clinic, respectively. You may turn in your application to the Radiography program during the application periods listed below. Application must be turned in to the Administrative Assistant in room C11.1055. Radiography Program Details Full time schedule (6 – 9 hour clinical days, 3 – 8 hour lecture lab days) Typical school calendar is followed (16 week spring and fall, 13 week summer) Tuition, fees, books – Approximately $2,400/year in district First semester – Approximately $500 for immunizations, uniforms, CPR certification Clinical site rotations through 11 medium to large facilities located in the Texas Medical Center and the southeastern quadrant of the Houston area ARRT pass rate 98% over the past 5 years (100% in 2011 and 2009) Completion Rate (3 year average 67%) Job Placement Rate 2011-88% (students working within 6 months of completion)
SONOGRAPHY: Admission Criteria- A two year or higher allied health degree/certificate in a patient care related area or a Bachelor’s degree and completion of the pre-requisites listed in the catalog. 1. Current application filled out to San Jacinto College before attending pre-enrollment meeting. If it has been longer than 1 year since you attended San Jacinto College, you must re-new your application online. All official transcripts from all institutions must be turned in to Enrollment Services along with a Transcript Evaluation form. 2. Submit application with transcript, resume, and two letters of recommendation. 3. Follow the link in step three above for a catalog description. 4. All applicants must meet specific program requirements before entry to the program. Specific entry requirements are provided in the information session.
