SECTION I General Information For Establishment of New Diploma Technical Institution for Minority in Mumbai, Bhivandi, Malegaon. 1.

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra State, Mumbai & Minority Development Department, Maharashtra State, Mantralaya, Mumbai invites proposal for the academic year 2012-13 for Diploma in Engineering.

Applicant (Societies / Trust ) may obtain APPLICATION FORM from D.T.E. website: www.dte.org.in/download and submit the said duly filled in application form to Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, 3, Mahapalika Marg, Mumbai-1 before 22/6/2012.

3.

All Registered Trusts/Registered Societies can submit proposal under following conditions : i) Applications from the Societies / Trusts, which are registered on or before the date of submission, are eligible to apply. ii) All Registered Trusts/Registered Societies running institution in a temporary building or on a rental basis are not eligible.

4.

DTE will not consider the courses other than those listed at Annexure A for Diploma in Engineering & Technology.

Note : The Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, 3, Mahapalika Marg, Mumbai-1 shall not consider any proposal, which is not submitted on the prescribed Application form OR for any other courses, which is/ are not mentioned in Annexure A.

SECTION II INSTRUCTION FOR SUBMISSIONS OF PROPOSALs For Establishment of New Diploma Technical Institution for Minority 1. The complete proposal in the prescribed APPLICATION FORM ( in original) should be submitted to Director, Technical Education, Mumbai Office as mentioned in the Advertisement. 2. Application should include all pertinent documents supporting the information provided and claims made therein as per checklist. 3. The applicant should indicate through certified documents, specifically the location of the proposed site for setting up of New Institution. 4. Applicants should clearly indicate the educational activities or institutions (if any) being run by the applicant. 5. The applicant should submit proof of the land earmarked for establishing the new institute, as per conditions prescribed by Minority Development Department, Maharashtra State, Mantralya, Mumbai vide their G.R. dated 5.2.2010 & Corrigendum dated 29.9.2011 & as per norms of All India Council for Technical Education as below: (Refer website of AICTE : http://www.aicte-india.org) • • • • • •

Trust/ Society should have minimum five year experience of running educational institutes. The Trust should have adequate financial stability to set up & run polytechnic. Diploma level technical institutions may be started with 5 courses with an intake of 300. The class size should be 60 in each discipline. A minimum 1.5 /5 acres land as per AICTE norms. Building plan as per requirement of 3 year diploma course should be submitted. Government of Maharashtra will provide funds of Rs. 3 crores to the Trust to set up the polytechnic. However, Trust will run the polytechnic as per norms of Higher & Technical Education Department, Government of Maharashtra & AICTE, without any other grant from the State Government. Preference will be given to the Institute having Minority Status & AICTE approval. Details of scheme are available on the web site www.maharashtra.gov.in & www.mdd.maharashtra.gov.in

Do not skip any item or section in the application form. If any item is not applicable, record “Not Applicable” otherwise applications shall be treated as incomplete, & is liable to be rejected.

Application form and enclosures preferably to be submitted in bound form along with index & page numbers. Photographs should be attested with all particulars and giving date on which such a photograph is taken.

The proposal should be submitted in the following sequence. i) Acknowledgement Form ii) Synopsis iii) Application Form iv) List of enclosures (As per checklist)

9.

In the event, the information and statements given by the applicant in the prescribed form are found incorrect/ incomplete; the application is liable to be rejected. Any further correspondence/ information on such proposals will not be entertained.

10.

All applicants whose proposals are completed in all respects and received on or before the last date shall be given an opportunity to present their cases along with all original documents before the Scrutiny Committee.

11.

In case an Applicant applies for more than one diploma institute separate exclusive resources (land, funds, building, etc.) for each course are required.

12.

All rights to cancel any or all the applications are reserved by Principal Secretary, Minorities Development Department, Mantralaya, Mumbai.

Note:- All enquiries or correspondence regarding status of the proposals during their processing shall not be entertained or replied to.
