REGULAR MEETING MINUTES EAGLE HARBOR TOWNSHIP BOARD April 9, 2018 CALL TO ORDER AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Supervisor Probst called the Regular Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Supervisor Probst led the Township Board and those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Supervisor Probst, Clerk Olson, Treasure Asselin, Trustee Harrer. MEMBERS ABSENT: Trustee Eddy AGENDA ADDITIONS AND APPROVAL: Motion to remove the Single Stream Recycling for non-residents from agenda. Motion by Clerk Olson Second by Trustee Harrer Vote: unanimous Motion carried CONSENT AGENDA APPROVAL: Approve Minutes of March 12, 2018 Budget Meeting Approve Minutes of March 12, 2018 Regular Meeting Approve Minutes of March 20, 2018 Special Meeting Accept Treasurers Report including Quarterly Investment Report Approve Payment of Bills: • • • • •
General Fund - $19,679.08 Water Fund - $3,215.51 Solid Waste Fund - $2,484.27 Emergency Services - $1,236.88 For a Total of $26,615.74 Motion by Trustee Harrer Second by Treasurer Asselin to approve the Consent Agenda. Vote: unanimous Motion Carried.
SUPERVISOR’S REMARKS AND CORRESPONDENCE Announcement regarding the sale of Eagle Harbor Inn. Letter sent to Keweenaw County Road Commission to acknowledge the work done for Copperdog 150 and thank you for continual road clean up. New assessor for Eagle Harbor Township. DEPARTMENT REPORTS Assessing - Rich Probst - B.O.R finished. 12 petitions were filed. Cemetery Sexton – Larry Krause - No Report Elections - Jeane Olson - Next election is August 7th. Upcoming training at the court house on April 27th. Emergency Medical Responders – Mary Ann Hohner - One call this month. Thank you to the VFD for continued assistance. General Maintenance Department - Marlin Wingard - JG Contracting finished window installation and interior painting at the Community Center. There is mold in the utility room floor at the township office. Most likely water seeping in from the bathrooms. Dollar bay Linoleum and Tile will address the issue.

Grounds Maintenance - Steve Kellow - No Report Planning Commission – Ole Van Goor - No Report. Solid Waste Department – Doug Schubert - No Report Tax Department - Patty Asselin - Taxes are at the County. Volunteer Fire Department – Mike Radigan/Bryce Myatt- Two Monthly meetings. Checked over Rigs and equipment. Discussed and watched films on various firefighting tactics. Water Department – Marlin Wingard - Seasonal turn-on's beginning. Water leak found and problem fixed. Zoning Administrator – Bill Eddy -No report Zoning Board of Appeals – Ann Gasperich - No Report. COMMITTEE REPORTS Cemetery Committee - Sue Krause - No Report • Parks & Recreation Committee – Rich Probst, Jr - No Report • Beach Committee – Jim Boggio - No Report • Park Committee – Rich Probst, Jr. - Meeting scheduled for April 19th, 10 a.m. Appraisals for Brockway Mt and Clark property should be soon. • Recreation Committee – Barb Sickler - No Report Solid Waste Committee - Doug Schubert - No Report UNFINISHED BUSINESS Request to Pay Interest on Water Assessment to Water Operating Fund - Motion to pay yearly interest to the water operator fund. Motion by Trustee Harrer Second by Treasurer Asselin Roll Call vote: 4 Ayes Motion Carried NEW BUSINESS Appoint/Reappoint Planning Commission Members - Motion to reappoint Sharon Mackenzie to the Planning Commission for a 3 year term ending in 2021. Motion by Supervisor Probst Second by Treasurer Asselin Roll call vote: 4 ayes Motion Carried Appoint/Reappoint ZBA Members - Motion to reappoint Jean Ellis to the ZBA board for a term of 3 years ending in 2021. Motion by Supervisor Probst Second by Clerk Olson Roll call vote: 4 ayes Motion Carried. Motion to Reappoint Richard Schaefer to the ZBA board for a term of 3 years ending in 2021. Motion by Supervisor Probst Second by Trustee Harrer Roll call vote: 4 ayes Motion Carried. PUBLIC COMMENT Members of the public shall have an opportunity, under Public Comment, to address the Township Board for no more than 3(three) minutes on any matter. Members of the public may also address a specific agenda item for up to 3 (three) minutes at the time the item is taken up by the board. The board may suspend the time limitation when warranted. Board discussion will precede public comment on specific agenda items. Prior to calling for the question, the Supervisor shall ask any member of the public who wishes to speak

on the agenda item to be recognized. When all persons who wish to address that agenda item have been heard, the supervisor shall announce that public comment on the agenda item is concluded, and no further public comment shall be entertained. Jean Ellis inquired about E-Recycling.
