MLA Citation Style Guide You can also create your list using NoodleBib, an online service to help you generate, edit, and print an MLA list of Works Cited. NoodleBib is accessed from the NSCC Library Homepage: http://library.northseattle.edu/ under Instruction & Research > Citation Tools from any computer on campus. From off campus, call a Reference Librarian (206-934-3609) for the institutional login and password.       

Use the heading Works Cited. Double space your citations. List each entry alphabetically by the first letter of each citation (skip a, an, or the if it is the first word). Give each entry a hanging indent of 1/2 inch. Keep publishing information minimal: ex: UP for University Press. Omit Inc., Books, Publishers, etc. Include the medium for each item: Print, Web, DVD, Videocassette, CD, Performance, Radio, Television. th For complete guidelines refer to the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, 7 edition, available in the reference section of the library [Ref LB 2369.G53 2009].

It is no longer required to include the URL to a Web source if the source can be found with a simple online search. However, some instructors may require the Web address as well.



Whenever possible, find and cite media on the copyright holder’s Web site or official YouTube/Hulu/Vimeo channel.
