MONICA CIOBANU Dr. Monica CIOBANU is Associate Professor at Plattsburgh State University of New York. Dr. Ciobanu’s research is focused on issues of democratization, memory, truth and justice in post-communism. She is the author of ten articles in peer-reviewed journals including Europe-Asia Studies, Comparative Sociology, International Journal of Politics, Culture and Society, Nationalities Papers and Problems of Post-Communism. She had also contributed to several edited volumes including Post-Communist Transitional Justice: Lessons from 25 Years of Experience, ed. by Lavinia Stan and Nadya Nedelsky, New York: Cambridge University Press, 2014; International Crime and Justice, ed. by Mangai Natarajan, Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2011; The Prague Spring and the Warsaw Pact Invasion of Czechoslovakia. Currently she is serving on the board of the Society for Romanian Studies.
