The Disability Treaty is a multilateral treaty inspired by U.S. leadership on the rights of people with disabilities. The Senate failed to ratify the treaty in 2012, but negotiations continued. In December, the lead Republican supporter backed out and negotiations stalled. Join us online to hear on how you can convince your Senator to take his place and move negotiations forward. What are Google+ Hangouts? A Google+ Hangout on Air is an online panel with experts taking questions from anyone around the world during a live broadcast online. Viewers can simply watch the discussion or participate by asking questions on the event webpage. How to watch If you only wish to watch the Google+ Hangout part of the Grassroots call, you do not need any kind of Google+ account. You only need an account if you wish to ask questions of the presenters during the live broadcast. To simply watch, go to http://globalsolutions.org/disabilitycall (all lower-case) and click on the play button on the video player. To ask questions If you wish to ask questions to the presenters during the live broadcast, you will need a Google + account. This is very simple to set up. If you have Gmail, you already have a Google+ account. To see it, go to http://plus.google.com and login the same way as you would login to your Gmail. If you don’t have a Gmail or Google+ account, you can quickly create one for the call by going to http://goo.gl/TUHl5 (upper case T, U, H, lowercase L, #5) and then go to http://plus.google.com to see your account. Once you are on your Google+ account, go to GlobalSolutions.org’s Page at http://globalsolutions.org/disabilitycall and click Follow under our logo. This will let us remind you of the call when it begins so you can ask questions. On the day of the call, go to http://globalsolutions.org/disabilitycall (all lower case) and press the Play button on the video player to start watching the presentation. We’ll take the questions during the live broadcast. You can ask questions during the call by posting them in the text box immediately below the video player (“Say Something”). You can also ask questions in advance by going to the event page, clicking on the Play button and adding your questions in the right hand column.
