MUG Summit Session Categories Category: Maximo Best Practices Sessions: 1. Presentation Title: How to Integrate SCADA and Maximo while Preserving Security Presenter: Melissa Ekmark | Starboard Consulting Summary: Starboard has worked with clients who have sought to Integrate SCADA to Maximo Asset Meters. The goal was to allow the current SCADA system to send meter readings for specific plant assets to Maximo for the purpose of generating meter based work orders from the Preventive Maintenance application allowing plant maintenance to improve their preventive and predictive maintenance programs. The benefits obtained by moving to a Predictive based Maintenance philosophy were significant. 2. Presentation Title: Establishing Quality in Enterprise Asset Management System Implementations Presenter: Russ Mokrouz | Genesis Solutions Summary: Establishing a world-class enterprise asset management strategy isn’t just a matter of installing a computerized maintenance management system, training the employees on it and then walking away. On the contrary, building out a maintenance and asset management program that helps the business achieve key goals - whether it’s reduced costs, a safer work environment or a more streamlined and efficient operation requires careful planning and execution of each step of the implementation process. At their core, quality EAM implementations are all about giving each step of the process its due. The tendency for some EAM vendors is to give short shrift to certain parts of the project, and that often leads to issues once the system is rolled out. Our philosophy is that quality needs to be a priority from the beginning of the project all the way through to the post-release phases. In this presentation, we’ll go through each step of the implementation process and explain exactly what we mean by placing an emphasis on quality. 3. IoT TSM is an Enterprise Device & Asset Management (EDAM) solution rooted in the power of the IBM IoT toolset and Watson Analytics. The IoT TSM approach of a single solution layer lying on top of existing systems and devices allows J&J to deploy a standard across all production sites regardless of what underlying technology is in place today. With IoT TSM in place, J&J has an unprecedented window into the Enterprise technology landscape, both legacy and planned. The solution provides a single dashboard view of the Enterprise, enabling insight into the “dark” sectors of the manufacturing organization while providing intelligent decision support across the Enterprise from top to bottom. TSM is an “active listener” in the world of invisible IT communications and information, which allows J&J to react immediately and intelligently to the rapidly changing BYOD landscape. 6.
