She has sung with Solti, Ashkenazy, Jurowski, Belohlavek, Gardiner, Pinnock and Andrew Davis, sung opera at Aix-en-Provence, Amsterdam, Lyon, Lille, Bremen, Antwerp, Wexford, ENO, Glyndebourne and Opera North, and given concerts in North America, Canada, Russia, the Far East, Australia, throughout Europe, and at all the major UK venues. She has so far appeared eight times at the BBC Proms. Belfast-born pianist Michael McHale has established himself as one of the leading Irish pianists of his generation. Since completing his studies at Cambridge University and the Royal Academy of Music he has developed a busy international career as a solo recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician. Miriam Roycroft - cello Réamonn Keary - piano Benjamin Britten Centenary Recital Benjamin Britten - Sonata for Cello and Piano in C major, Op. 65 Charles Alkan - Sonata for Cello and Piano Op. 47 Martinu - Variations on a Slovak folksong for Cello & Piano, H. 378 As a duo, Miriam Roycroft and Réamonn Keary have been playing together for the last five years and have performed extensively throughout Ireland and the UK. In 2010 they performed to great acclaim at the National Gallery of Ireland for the ‘Chopin 200’ series. They were featured artists at the ‘Yorkshire Live Music Project’ Northern Lights Series in Wakefield in May 2012 where they gave the world premiere of ‘Four Commentaries’ by Nigel Morgan. They also performed at St. Barrahane’s Church Music Festival in August 2012. Film work has included ‘The Watchmaker’s Time’.
Bach - Prelude & Fugues from the 48 (C major Bk.1 or D minor Bk.2) Chopin - Prelude Op. 45/ Barcarolle Op. 60 Tom Johnson - Euler’s Harmonies (1988) Debussy - Images Bk. 1 Schubert - Sonata in B flat, D 960. Hugh Tinney has written about this programme: I conceived of this programme really so that I could record onto CD a collection of a range of works from different periods that I have particularly loved playing throughout my career. Chopin's Barcarolle I began playing in my teens, and I played it on international tours in my twenties; while the great Schubert B flat sonata and Debussy's Images Book One (including the short masterpiece, Reflets dans l'eau) have been amongst the works I have performed most often, over the last three decades. There is a clear emphasis in these works on the lyrical, although they are obviously not without drama! A similar balance can be felt in the short pieces, between the Bach Prelude in C along with Tom Johnson's Euler's Harmonies on the one hand, both lyrical works based on arpeggiated chords, and Bach's Prelude in D minor and Gerald Barry's Swinging Tripes and Trillibubkins on the other, in which powerful, energetic and rhythmical elements hold sway.
