My name is Raja H. Sibai, I am a principal at Rosser International here in Atlanta, and I am running for Treasurer of AIA Atlanta. As an active member of AIA Atlanta since 2004, I have always enjoyed serving our profession in one way or another. Over the last 3 years I have served on the board as the Continuing Education Director. In this position, I have had the opportunity to learn about and help shape how the Atlanta chapter thrives, managing to serve its almost 1700 members. The Continuing Education section has had the largest annual operating budget of any of the AIA Atlanta sections, and we have strived to make sure that the funds are allocated, first and foremost, to best serve the needs of our members; and that they were managed in a financially prudent and responsible manner. I feel this past year spent assisting the current outgoing treasurer should help me to jump in feet first into this new role, with your support. As treasurer, my objective would be to carry on the good work of my predecessor, maintaining our sound fiscal strategies that have allowed us to continue to grow during the economic recession, and positioning the chapter for an even brighter future.
