1 Introduction EIVAStat is a small logging and statistics module for the NaviPac package. The program is started automatically, when NaviPac starts online. But whether EIVAStat starts logging automatic is user controlled, so its wisely to set it up first time, after that it can be left alone, and should run without any user interaction. EIVAStat is a .NET application and requires as such minimum .NET 2 Framework on the pc. This is normally offered as part of the install procedure
2 General When EIVAStat is started, it looks like below.
The Start, Switch and Stop indicates indirectly, what state its in. This furthermore gives the user a possibility to override start/stop of logging. When you start logging, a folder is created, where data from the NaviPac sensors are stored in ascii format. The files shown below are generated and appended to.
GPSStatus.log Position.log Motion.log Heading.log Acquisition.log
When you switch or stop logging, a report of the logged data is created, showing various statistical data. Also the logged data are zipped into one zip archive.

3 Logging setup Before you start logging, you can setup how the logging should work. You can do this by clicking Settings/Logging… This should open the dialog shown below.
Log path o This is where your files are stored Prefix for logfile o This is the prefix for the zipped achieve of logged data and the report file. All files willl have appended nXXX after the name, to ensure uniqueness.

Logging control (NaviPac) o Enable this, if you would like logging start/stop and switch to be controlled from NaviPac. Here you will have to type in an ipaddress and port of the NaviPac computer’s logging control. Logging settings o This is an alternative to logging control. When enabled, it will automatically change file every hour / day. You can also tick Automatic start logging, if you would like EIVAStat to start logging, when the program starts.
When you are satisfied, click on Ok to save logging setup.
4 Statistics setup The report, which is generated, when you stop/switch logfile, can be generated in a number of different formats. The dialog below shows which ones.
Report type Select if report is generated as standard EOL report or special positioning report (waypoint controlled) Report format Select the file format to use
Click on Ok to save Statistics setup.

5 Data recording format The data behind the reports will be available in zipped ASCII files
The files are gives as simple comma separated files that can be imported into EXCEL or similar
6 Reports The EIVAStat offers two reports
6.1 Standard The standard reports can be generated manually or at stop of line. The report contains the following statistics GPS Status: UKOOA GPS Status

Data acquisition: Data measurements
6.2 Position The position report is generated on basis of an active waypoint at the Helmsman’s Display. The waypoint must be loaded and activated by opening a range/bearing window towards it. The report will then be generated as a client acceptance sheet
