NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health The NEBOSH International General Certificate provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of occupational safety and health, promoting the highest standards of safety and health. The syllabus is based on International, technical and other standards (ILO Codes of Practice, for instance) and internationally recognised good practice.
Who should study for the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health The Certificate has been designed for managers, supervisors, worker representatives and others who require a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of safety and health principles and practices.
Entry Requirements There are no barriers to entry to the NEBOSH International General Certificate course but it is strongly advised that candidates have a good understanding of basic health and safety which can be gained through studying the RRC Key2Safety or IOSH courses. Assessments are currently undertaken in English and a good standard of written English essential.
What You Will Study? The syllabus itself is divided into 16 units (approximately 130 hours of study) covering the Management of Safety and Health and Controlling Workplace Hazards. IGC 1

Practical Application
Assessment This consists of an examination and a practical safety and health assessment of a workplace. You must pass each of the two examination papers and the practical assessment to be awarded the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.
