Transport to remote areas
$415 million
Transport of relief to remote areas that are not accessible by road remains a key challenge, as additional airlift capacity is required. Additional air military assets waiting to deploy from India. Standard rates are being brokered with the local road transport association.
UN Flash Appeal calls for $415 million to respond to the humanitarian needs for the next 3 months. As of 06 May, the appeal is $18.5 million (4%) funded. The Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) released a grant of $15 million for the response.
