Impacts

What is the Future Internet? The future internet is a huge cloud of assisted living and smart applications that serve a user by providing a remote communication and management for specific resources.

The Problem The future internet contains a numerous number of fixed and movable devices, sensors and actuators.

Solution 1. 2.

Constructing a very fast and dynamic communication Network, based on the following innovation. Software-Defined Networks (SDN). Network Function Virtualization (NFV).

Solution 1. Software-Defined Networks (SDN).

Solution 2. Network Function Virtualization (NFV).

NFV :

Functions Program Device

Advantages: 1.Ability to change the • Type of device (Functionality). • Quantity of devices( provisioning resources). • version of device ( without change the hardware ).

2. Move from closed boxes to a open source software which is able to develop.

SDN &NFV: • SDN support NFV by providing centralization and automation. • NFV support SDN by resources provisioning (can change type, quantity and location of the resources).

What I am doing?

Objectives: 1. Building infrastructure (Mininet emulator) 2. Programming the virtual networks (OpenDaylight, Hewlett-Packard [HP]) 3. Develop a novel the Management resources algorithm.

4. Deploy the system to real network with some modification (HP or DataVision).

Impacts: A) The commercial impacts : 1. Using multi-Operator on a single line. 2. Switching the operator without exchanging the devices or needing for engineers. 3. Deploying the new service faster and cheaper. 4. Changing the network topology in real time. 5. Recovering any failure in real time. 6. More secure and reliable.

B) The academic impacts : 1. Deploy a novel network management algorithm. 2. Develop the University laboratories and courses. 3. Support the student by latest technology experience. 4. More research and participation in development of future internet innovations.

Any question please?

What is the change? Currently, each service has a specific website only, while in SDN network each service will have a full dedicated virtual network.
