[email protected] PH (800) 381-0769 STACY SLOBODNIK-STOLL OF MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY TO BE INDUCTED INTO THE WGCA COACHES HALL OF FAME CORAL SPRINGS, Florida (November 2, 2017) – Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll, Head Women’s Golf Coach at Michigan State University, will be inducted into the WGCA Hall of Fame on Sunday evening, December 10, 2017. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place at Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas, Nev. Slobodnik-Stoll becomes the 50th member of the WGCA Coaches Hall of Fame. In her 20 seasons as head coach, Slobodnik-Stoll has led the Michigan State women’s golf team to 18 NCAA Regional appearances (1999-2014, 2016-17), 11 trips to the NCAA Championships (2000-03, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2012-14, 2017), and six Big Ten titles (2001, 2007, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2017). Additionally, the Spartans have won 35 tournaments during this span. Slobodnik-Stoll is a four-time Big Ten Coach of the Year (2001, 2007, 2012, 2017) and was named the Midwest Region Coach of the Year in 1999. Slobodnik-Stoll’s players have garnered 43 All-Big Ten selections, four Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Year titles, three Big Ten Freshman of the Year titles, six All-America honors and 38 All-American Scholar honors. In 2017, Michigan State claimed its fourth Big Ten title in seven years before going on to tie for its best-ever finish at an NCAA Regional, placing third in the Athens Region. The Spartans earned a spot in the NCAA Championships for the 11th time in program history, where they placed 19th. About the Women’s Golf Coaches Association The Women’s Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents nearly 600 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent. ###
