BRENDEL ELEMENTARY THE PLACE TO BE! WE PUT KIDS FIRST! A.J. Brendel Mission Statement At Brendel Elementary our mission is to provide the highest quality education in a safe, caring and challenging community that allows for individual differences and learning styles.

Dear Brendel parents, Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Celebration of Learning and for Parent-Teacher Conferences. Our staff always enjoys sharing student successes and meeting with you to further their success through the home and school connection. Celebration of Learning was a new event where all families were invited so student work and learning could be showcased; this first annual event seemed well-received by all those in attendance! March is reading Month nation-wide. Here at Brendel our kids are “Pausing to get Their Paws on a Good Book!” We all know that reading well is the gateway to success in school and in life. Creating and nurturing a passion for reading is our # 1 priority, as the kind of thinking you do as a reader supports problem solving in math (which is what arithmetic is for out in the world!), science, social studies, engineering, etc. Please celebrate your child as a growing reader and support them with lots of practice and joyful family-time reading. The best part of my day is after the announcements when all of the students who have read another reading series come to my office to celebrate and receive their reading necklace, and/or charm. They are so proud of themselves! Attention K-1 parents; our second Parent Connect/Coffee and Conversation is coming up next Thursday, march 22nd from 1:30-3:00. Please plan on a parent, grandparent or adult relative to join us for this opportunity. The topic is about supporting literacy. Part of your time will also be spent in your child’s classroom, which the children are so excited about! Please let us know you plan to attend so we can plan accordingly. 591-6137 Have a great weekend! Mrs. Goetz
