PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Our Expo Day was a wonderful day full of opportunity and aspiration! Thank you to the 14 professionals who volunteered their time to help make our day such a success. A special thank you to our local professionals for their valued support. The students have been inspired and there is a lot of excited talk about what their future can hold. We are already planning to make next year bigger and better. As this is the last Newsletter for the term, I would like to thank the students and their families for another great ten weeks. Have a safe and relaxing holiday and we will see you back at school on Monday, 9th October. Shelley Darcy, Principal

HELPING YOUR CHILD WITH MATHS
Talk positively about maths so your child also values it. Play games with your child, which involve adding dice or numbers, to show them that maths matters. Ask your child how they work out maths problems; it helps build their knowledge and boosts their confidence. Help your child to group objects by asking them to set the table or put the cutlery away correctly. Point out maths in everyday life with your child whenever you can, such as: • • • •
cooking in the kitchen (measurement) operating a microwave oven (numbers and counting backwards) stacking containers in the cupboard (shapes) finding a certain house number down the street (counting by twos).
