FORWARD The National Identification Agency (NIDA) services go directly not only to the

public but to also to other institutions, public, private and international. This Service Charter serves as a tool to help all NIDA clients, to know the services it offers, how to acquire them and what to do if the service is not provided. The present document might help users to know the process to follow when someone might apply for a service related to identification, and know if he is eligible. The identification includes the registration of the population, the issuance of identity card and the civil registration. NIDA registers the Rwanda Citizens (text data in electronic National Registry and the biometric data), issue or reissue the national identity card, etc. The motto of NIDA is “Smart identification to development”.

What is the procedure?

I. For Rwanda citizen living abroad: - Go to NIDA reception; -Present an official rwandan document (passport, consular card, laisser-passer) to the Biometric data entry staff, register himself and be taken biometric data; - Pay 500 Rwf at BPR on Account number : 400.3627635.11; - With the bank slip, come back to NIDA 2 days after to pick up the ID. II. For Rwanda citizen living in the country: Normally the service is offered at the residence Sector but when it is not possible, e.g. a citizen wants the service when the staff in charge is working at NIDA Head Quarters, NIDA shall deliver the ID, following these procedures: - Go to NIDA reception; -Present an official document to the Biometric data entry staff and be taken the biometric data; - Pay 500 Rwf at BPR on account number : 400.3627635.11;

II. For Rwanda citizen living in the country:  Go to the residence Sector with the ID card to be corrected and the supporting documents;  Pay 500 Rwf at BPR on Account number: 400.3627635.11;  With the bank slip, go back one month after to pick up the ID.
