Twenty-five year old jazz sensation, Norah Jones, is ready to begin her North American tour with a stop in Duluth at the University of Minnesota. She will be performing songs from her Grammy award winning debut album “Come Away With Me.”
Norah was born in New York City in 1979. She then moved to Texas, where her interest in music grew. She claims some of her earliest musical influences came from “oldies” played on the radio.
Jones went on to study jazz piano at the University of North Texas. She left before graduation to move back to New York City to pursue her musical talents.
She blends elements of jazz, soul, country, and folk-pop into her soulful music.
Los Angeles Times claims Jones “A talented newcomer who invests her [singing] with a poignancy reminiscent of Eva Cassidy.”
