North Cascades National Park
North Cascades National Park was established by Congress on October 2, 1968. It includes more than 600,000 acres of land. Located in the state of Washington approximately a 3-hour drive from Seattle, this beautiful national park is a world of diversity. You will find a rainforest-like climate in the west side of the park and a dry climate in the eastern side of the park. There are high mountain peaks and forested valleys where you can hear the waterfalls as you travel through the park. Some interesting things to know about the park are:
There are over 300 glaciers in the park, more than any other park in the 48 contiguous states.
The landscape in the North Cascades National Park includes areas over 9,000 feet in height.
