Updates from MoPH: - Please refer to the attached MoPH report. Action Points:  MoPH to strengthen the reporting system in the PHC centers under its network. 

Updates from UNHCR: - UNHCR implemented a new health strategy focused on the PHC level to ensure that the most vulnerable refugees will continue to have access to health care: Please refer to the attached PPT (Revised Health strategy-UNHCR Lebanon-April 2013). Action Points:  UNHCR to share the new health strategy and 3’s Health matrix with partners. 

UNHCR will coordinate a meeting on the Medical Mobile Units (MMU).



UNHCR will share the health brochure with all relevant agencies.



UNHCR will share the German referral criteria and medical case report form with partners.



UNHCR’s partners will submit additional support for RH and neonatal care.

Updates from UNFPA: UNFPA is planning to discuss the minimum pregnancy package? UNFPA is planning to conduct assessment to the primary healthcare centres and based on it will distribute RH kits to the centres. IMC will develop the pregnancy cards to be distributed to be used for pregnant women. Partners can request RH kit material from UNFPA such as male condoms, oral contraceptive pills and Intra Uterine Device (IUD) Action Points:  All partners to share indicators with the rest of the participants.

UNFPA to share the list of PHCs provided with PEP kit and list of names for trained staff and telephone number.



UNFPA will share the detailed info of the training of clinical management of rape. After the training, UNFPA will distribute PEP kits to contracted PHCs and hospitals.



UNFPA will share the VCT training detailed information. Partners to send the participants list to UNFPA and NAP.



UNFPA will distribute folic acid and Iron tablets and anti-fungal medications to the PHC.

Update on mental health services and psycho social support in the South MSF-Switzerland: MSF is providing mental health services only in Saida through UNRWA clinics and the Gov Hospitals of Saida. Millennium Canada: are currently assessing the needs in Deir Kanoun with a special attention to Person with Disability. They are aiming to create an education referral system, they will organize a ToT on health, safety environment and development

IMC: is conducting mobile visits in all South area. IMC has negotiated with the governmental hospitals Nabatieh and Bent Jbeil Governmental hospitals regarding the fees for Leishmania. Amel: is conducting educational and psychop-social activities; As for the health program, Amel is providing the following: - Medical Consultations with low rate (3,000 LL) - Provision of free medicines for acute and chronic diseases following prescription of the doctor. AMEL receives chronic medications from YMCA network. - Lab test and imaging. - Reproductive Health (Distribution of UNFPA/MoPH kits, Ante Natal Care, Post natal care, STI) - Mental Health through psychosocial support (including art-therapies, support group, individual counseling for the children enrolled in AMEL’s educational activities and for their parents, home visits from the Social Workers). - Health Education through awareness sessions. 6.

Mobile Medical Activities MSF, IMC, Caritas and Millennium Canada are providing mobile medical services in the South. Please refer to the attached schedule. Action point: UNHCR to coordinate a meeting with partners namely IMC, MSF, Caritas, Millennium Canada and the Islamic Welfare Association on the needs for MMU in the South.

Health education materials on health and hygiene promotion, nutrition, maternal and child health UNFPA shared the health education materials with partners. It is available in the drop box. Action point: Agencies to share their HEM with UNHCR to be displayed in the drop box.

To identify a co-chair for the HWG Action point: Agencies are kindly requested to express their willingness to co-chair the South HWG with UNHCR. 10. Action points for next None

Next Meeting: South Health Coordination Group Meetings held on the first week of every month 1100-1230hrs. Location will be in Tyre UNHCR office compound and will be confirmed one week before the meeting. It is a commitment of the Health Sector Coordinator that minutes of meetings are shared within 7 days of the HCG meeting and agenda and work plan will be provided 7 days before the next meeting cycle.
