The inhibitory and bactericidal activities of a novel cyclic peptide antibiotic, LY146032, and vancomycin against oxacilln-susceptible and oxacillin-resistant staphylococci were compared. The MICs for 90% of strains were two- to fourfold higher for vancomycim than for LY146032. MBC/MIC ratios for all strains were 300 colonies to
