November 30, 2017 Dear Senators, On behalf of the millions of activists and members of our respective organizations, we are writing to register our opposition to the Rubio-‐Lee Amendment. As you know, our network has long supported meaningful, pro-‐growth tax reform that will enhance American global competitiveness and make the U.S. a more attractive place for investment and job creation. We believe reducing America's high corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 20 percent is key to driving the economic growth that will lead to more jobs, higher wages, and greater prosperity and financial security for all American families. We continue to strongly support the unified framework and the 20 percent corporate tax rate that the White House has said they would oppose raising. The proposed Rubio-‐ Lee amendment would deviate from that framework by increasing the corporate tax rate beyond 20 percent, undermining the full economic benefits that families would otherwise see. We believe this is the wrong approach. Business tax relief is central to the goals of creating jobs and promoting economic growth, and we are concerned that any effort to hold the corporate tax rate above 20 percent will substantially limit our ability to achieve those goals and expand opportunities for all Americans. Again, we urge you to oppose the Rubio-‐Lee Amendment. Sincerely, Christine Harbin Vice President of External Affairs Americans for Prosperity Nathan Nascimento Executive Vice President Freedom Partners Daniel Garza President The LIBRE Initiative Carrie Sheffield Executive Director Generation Opportunity
