69 Prefix Hydraulic Roller Tappet CompuCam Camshafts For Dodge 5.2 & 5.9 Liter Engines with Throttle Body Fuel Injection

For more information, see www.cranecams.com The camshaft you have purchased is designed specifically for use in 1986-91 5.2L (318 c.i.) and 1987-92 5.9L (360 c.i.) engines factory equipped with hydraulic roller tappets. It cannot be used in 1991 Dodge Dakota trucks with 5.2L engines due to timing cover interference. It is also not designed for use in the later model “Magnum Series” of engines. 1. We highly recommend that you have a copy of the factory service manual available before you begin your installation. Use it along with our instructions and supplements. This will insure you have the correct torque specifications available during installation. In order to maintain compliance with emission laws, we recommend you use the factory specifications on ignition timing adjustments. 2. This camshaft is equipped with a cast iron distributor drive gear. A bronze distributor gear is not required. 3. The factory roller tappets can be re-used with this cam. Replace them only if they are worn or damaged.

4. Use only sealants that are approved for use on computer equipped vehicles. This is important to protect the engine’s oxygen sensor, which is a major part of the engine’s control system. 5. Follow the service manual’s recommended procedure for resetting the computer after proper camshaft installation has been completed. 6. CompuCam 2000 Series camshafts have been specifically designed for your engine to obtain maximum torque, horsepower and RPM capability from your computer equipped vehicle. We do not recommend advancing or retarding the cam to change the power curve. Any such changes to produce maximum power have been incorporated into the camshaft already. 7. This camshaft kit may include a product information label. If so, it must be installed under the hood in a readily visible area to comply with your state’s emission requirements. If you have any questions, please contact one of our Technical Consultants..
