Old Brighton Grammarians’ Society Scholarship Application Form The OBGS Scholarship for Citizenship and General Excellence is available to boys entering Years 8-11 in 2019. A copy of the applicant’s most recent school report and NAPLAN results, and a recent passport-size photo, must accompany the application. The Old Brighton Grammarians’ Society Scholarship is exclusively available for the sons of Old Boys. Applicants will be required to: • demonstrate that they are of fine character and general all-round ability, and willing to embrace the spirit and culture of Brighton Grammar School • submit with this application a written piece of work outlining what Brighton Grammar School means to them. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of the application and an interview process and not by examination. Not all applicants will be interviewed but all candidates will receive appropriate notification as to their situation in the selection process. The Scholarship does not cover the cost of uniform, stationery, books or discretionary costs such as overseas trips. Scholarship holders are expected to: • maintain a high standard of achievement in the areas of endeavour for which they were awarded the scholarship • contribute positively and enthusiastically to School life. Progress and contribution to School life are reviewed annually. The Scholarship may be withdrawn if the Headmaster is not satisfied with the diligence or conduct of the holder. Failure to pay fees may also lead to withdrawal. The School reserves the right not to award any or all of the scholarships available. No boy may hold more than one scholarship.
