ON CREATION OF THE PROFESSIONAL ORIENTATION UNIVERSITY COURSE IN TOURISM WITH THE MOODLE PLATFORM Chernysheva T L Associate Professor, Marketing and Service of Novosibirsk State Technical University, Novosibirsk, Russia E-mail:
[email protected] Abstract. This article is in support of the proposition that the need of the university training program "Tourism" for motivated applicants leads to the need for the pre-specialization training of high school students. This training is designed not only to introduce students to the proposed profession, but also to demonstrate all opportunities for the successful implementation of their interests, which can be achieved with the help of information and communication technologies. Key words: virtual education platform MOODLE, professional orientation, potential applicant, tourism personnel dominant values The educational capacity of IT has been in the scope of attention of such scientists as A. Andreev, A. Akhayan, D. Davydov, V. Ovsyannikov, D. Keegan [1]. Special emphasis should be given to the electronic educational environment MOODLE, which is considered to be the best in the field nowadays. The MOODLE system is an abbreviation for the Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment, which translates exactly the same and which is used to create dynamic Web sites for students in different fields, regardless of their educational background and attainment level. This is a learning management system or a virtual learning environment [4]. This platform has a rich variety of modules-components for courses, such as: chat, polling, forum, blog, glossary, workbook, lesson, lecture, workshop, test, questionnaire. The MOODLE has effective tools for creating tests [5]. Tests can contain different types of questions: closed-end questions (with a multiple choice), random questions, numeric questions, questions with Yes/No answers; with a short answer, with enclosed answer, with making conformity, etc. Test questions are stored in the database and can be reused in one or different courses. Thus, the same test task can be included in several different test materials. The development of the author is the application of the MOODLE educational modules in the proposed vocational guidance program for high school students, which are potential applicants to the university course "Tourism". This program involves the whole arsenal of vocational guidance technologies, such as: testing, interviewing, excursions, training, use of video materials and specialized literature, as well as participation in the animation presentation of the specialty at an open day of the university as part of the student group [2]. The urgency of the implementation of this complex multi-stage project aimed at future specialists in the sphere of tourism is dictated by a high level of responsibility of this sphere, as well as the need to precede the decision to be enrolled in the specialty by clarification of certain matters of nuances and peculiarities of service professions, which will enable young people to compare their abilities with certain requirements. All the above formats for interaction with potential applicants are supported by specially created modules within the framework of the electronic career guidance course correlating with the program objectives: 1) the module "Tests" is aimed at identification of dominant types of temperament, types of thinking, types of abilities, and then at automatic identification of entry of applicants into the "tourism personnel matrix"; 2) in the course of discussion with potential entrants into the "matrix", the module "Forum" allows to affirm their willingness and psychological readiness to work in the tourist industry; 3) the module "Lecture" allows to divide all materials into topical units, which represent: a) dominant values, without which working in tourism sector seems to be very difficult; b) tourism personnel quality resulting from value preferences; c) key requirements which this service sector imposes to physical and mental health of prospective employees; d) positive and negative aspects of work in tourism; e) benefits to be acquired by the tourism manager through realizing himself as a person in it; f) enterprises where "Tourism" course graduates can work; g) entertaining geography. Professional words and terms the meaning of which is illustrated by materials of the module "Glossary" are highlighted throughout the text of the lectures.

In the topic units, there are materials from the atlas (for country studies), scientific articles of the corresponding subject, videos of master classes, tourism destinations, feature motion pictures whose characters are hospitality workers, links to interesting webinars. The module "Calendar of Events" marks the time and date of all offline events - both organized by initiators of the career guidance course, and specially chosen from the whole range of events being conducted on behalf of various companies of the city, which help to obtain all necessary skills and activities. These are all kinds of trainings, workshops, excursions, master classes, exhibitions and conferences. The participants discuss these events with the help of the Chat module. In the "Workbook" module potential applicants develop their own specialty presentation projects at the "Open Day", from which students choose the best option and involve a group of active participants among students in the preparatory process for the event. The rehearsal schedule is displayed in the "Calendar". At the final stage of the career guidance course, applicants prepare their CVs, reflecting those activities in which they have proven themselves during their school years. Such business portraits allow demonstrating in absentia their personal and professional qualities. The advantage is that the educational system enables the participants of the course to evaluate and adjust CVs of each other. The MOODLE supports a very useful function of collective text editing ("Wiki" element) [3]. Obviously, testing, the potential of which is provided by the MOODLE environment, is dominant in the algorithm of interaction with potential applicants. This is due to the fact that, based on the received information about themselves, their abilities and prospects for their future, the applicants make a well-informed choice of their future profession. Such types as multiple, alternative choices and that with making conformity seemed more appropriate for carrier guidance tests. The same test task can be included in the composition of several test materials aimed at different tasks. The system has a special mechanism that automatically summarizes test results. Mental models which are recommended for work in the field of spiritual services shall be rational and analytical, and the type of personality shall be an extrovert [2]. Thus, the tasks of a comprehensive vocational guidance project can be successfully solved with the help of the educational environment MOODLE. In fact, this course is a virtual career guidance school aimed at multistage development of an individual action plan together with the applicant in order to cultivate his first-level skills required for success in the field of tourism, to find a sequence of real steps towards his primary selforientation in the chosen profession. When organized in this way, the process of interaction between the university and students will lead to entering the university by motivated applicants who are already adapted to learn, which will affect the quality of their education. The practical importance of the development is determined by the fact that such a program can be implemented on the basis of any university that provides “Tourism” course training and uses distance learning opportunities.
