Oracle SOA Programmer – Business Solution Technology

JOB DESCRIPTION: The New York City Housing is seeking an Oracle SOA Programmer for the Best Solution Technology Department. Selected candidate will design the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)/Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) tier by developing SOA enabled applications and business processes using Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle SOA suite 10g/11g. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Participate in design sessions with project staff. 2. Build BPEL processes to support orchestration of web services. 3. Participate in team reviews of design artifacts and code; make changes as required and recommend alternative solutions where appropriate. 4. Develop programming standards. 5. Develop and provide support for internal programming frameworks. 6. Provide support to junior staff members. 7. Research new technologies particularly with regards to Oracle Technologies. 8. Produce XML artifacts and XSDs. 9. Conduct critical review of design and specifications; quality review of code, documentations, reports and other deliverables. 10. Liaise with other teams, business areas and third parties where assistance is required in incident solution. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in computer science or a related computer field and two years of satisfactory full-time computer software experience in computer systems development and analysis, applications programming, database administration, systems programming, data communications, including one year in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or 2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory full-time computer software experience as described in "1" above, including one year in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or 3. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above. College education may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience in "2" above on the basis that 60 semester credits from an accredited college is equated to one year of experience. A masters degree in computer science or a related computer field may be substituted for one year of the required experience in "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and at least one year of satisfactory full-time experience in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: 1. 3- 5 years experience in SOA platform Architecture and Development, including 2 years working with Oracle Enterprise Applications. 2. Significant knowledge and experience designing and developing Enterprise Service Bus/SOA/Integration Tier Architecture (BPEL/Business Process Orchestration, Web Services, J2EE). 3. Strong background in systems architecture and relevant technologies, including portal technologies, middleware technologies, and J2EE. Oracle SOA suite 10g on Oracle Fusion Application server or Oracle Web Logic server. 4. Strong object oriented skills using open architecture standards as well as best practices, design principles, and techniques with hands-on experience in regards to: BPEL, UML, WSDL, JDBC, SQL, XML/XSL, SOAP and Web services. 5. Experience with Oracle Database 9i/10g
