May 6 is the last day of this class Final Exam, Friday May 15 Examinations and Quizzes: There will be (3) three 50-minute examinations and 6 (six) quizzes will be given during the semester. No make-up exams or quizzes will be given. I am going to count two out of three exams and will drop your lowest score exam. In case, if you miss any one of three exams, then I will count your missed exam as your drop exam. [In exceptional circumstances, prearranged rescheduling may be possible.] I am also going to account five of your six quizzes and will drop your lowest quiz score. In case, if you miss any one of six quizzes, I will count this one as your drop quiz. [In exceptional circumstances, prearranged rescheduling may be possible.] Please note all the quizzes and exams will be given on Fridays. The Final Exam will be on Friday May 15 from 10:00-12:00Noon for 150 points and will be comprehensive, all chapters covered during the semester will be included in the final exam. Problems: Problems from the text will be listed for each chapter. Students are advised to work as many problems as they can whether assigned or not. Text problems are representative of those on exams. Final Grade: Please note, letter grades are not assigned to individual examination or quiz. The final grade will be based on the total points from two of the three 50-minute examinations (100 points each), five of six quizzes (10 point each) and the final examination (150 points) for a total of 400 points. There will be a frequency distribution curve in final grading. If anyone has need for note-taking or test-taking accommodations, please feel free to discuss this with me early in the session. Department and University policies are posted on www.uwm.edu/Dept/SecU/SyllabusLinks.pdf WELCOME BACK TO ORGANIC CHEMISTRY. STOP BY AT ROOM CHEM 745. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A GREAT ORGANIC SEMESTER!!
