Addressing public at the concluding day of the Yatra to the Holy Cave Shrine at Ramnagar here this evening on the occasion of the 27th Navratra Festival, Harshdev promised of strenuous efforts for bringing the shrine under the management of a Board, the one similar on the pattern of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji. He proposed presentation of the private member Bills during the forthcoming Assembly session for bringing the Shrine under the Board as also for its inclusion in the Tourism Map of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the inclusion of this Shrine under the management of the Board would help in further projecting the picturesque Ramnagar as another tourist destination to the visitors, who now prefer virgin pockets instead of the congested tourist places that are losing their delight and sheen because of the ever surging rush there. mendable task in meticulously organising the Yatra to the Cave Shrine every year besides affording all facilities to devotees thronging here during Navratas. He said that the committee has been further boosting the morale of the public spirited functionaries and philanthropists by recognising their services. Harshdev presented the O.P Jandial Sadhbhavana Puraskar to J and K Samaj Kalyan Kendra, an organisation espousing the cause of deaf and dumb in the State. The award carried a citation and undisclosed cash prize. Earlier, the Chief Guest Harshdev presented Dance Competition awards also among the competitors. The first prize in the competition was bagged by Salooni Thakur, while the second prize was clinched by Vabhya Mahajan. The third prize went to Anju. Others who spoke on the occasion include Rampaul Choudhary, Sanjeev Jandial, Papu Verma, Paras Ram Khjauria, Manoj Kumar and Pinda Gupta.

POONCH: Police rescued 48 bovines on Monday from the clutches of four smugglers who were transporting them by foot towards Valley. According to a report, Surankote Police led by DSP Javeed Ahmed Mir on an information laid a Naka at Braimgala and intercepted four persons smuggling 48 bovines towards Valley without permission. Three of them identified as Mushtaq Ahmed son of Sainauulah, Mohd Shabir son of Mohd Nazir and Abdul Gani son of Admed Din all residents of Bonikhet were arrested on the spot while other Zuber Ahmad son of Abdul Gani managed to escape from the spot. A case FIR No 176/2013 under section 188 RPC was registered in the Police Station Surankote against the arrested accused persons and hunt for escapied one is on. The Naka was laid under the supervision of SP Poonch Shamsheer Hussain.

UDHAMPUR: Chief Education Officer (CEO) Udhanpur Balbir Singh on Monday paid surprise visit to many schools under Zone Tikri, Jib and Udhampur and found many irregularities. According to a report, during CEO's visit to Govt High School Jakhar,(Udhampur) he found that In-charge HM Rita Sharma, Master Sundershan Gupta, Master Jyoti Kachroo, Teacher Kusam Lata and Teacher Om Parkesh were absent, their pay have been kept withheld and ZEO Udhampur was directed to charge-sheet all the absentees. In MS Dagar, CEO found that only 23 enrollment was
there in the school and he directed to increase the roll. At PS Manmall Zone Tikri, CEO found that there were only three students enrolled, CEO warned the ReTs to increase the roll otherwise there services will be terminated. In MS Jib staff strength was 13 and students enrollment was less, CEO also directed to increase the roll. In High School Malhar all the staff members were present except one teacher Chanchal who had gone for handing over charge for long. CEO directed HM to call back teacher at once for further duty and also directed HM to get repair the electricity wiring of the school immediately so that any untoward incidents may not happen.

scheme . He informed that foundation has established 60 vermin compost units and are providing 10 kg free of cost earth worms to farmers for establishing units of vermni compost . He informed that Morarka Foundation has registered 990 farmers in 10 Gram Panchayats of whole Bhadarwah and has covered crops like Rajmas , Maize ,paddy , wheat, mustered etc in this project . UDHAMPUR: In a meeting, NGO - 'Jiyo Aur Jeene do' highlighted the problem of traffic jams which are observed daily on the National Highway. The member of NGO Shankaar Singh highlighted various problems arising due to the jam. He said that there is only one road available from Udhampur to Batote which is in very poor condition. "Sometimes even two wheelers face problems and are not able to move through the road. This is also one of the cause of jam that is observed daily" he said. Speaking in the meeting, the Chairman of NGO Tariq Shah said that this traffic jam is a big problem being faced by people daily on this road. This all is due to the negligence of GREF Deptt. Shah assured all the members present in the meeting that the NGO will definitely work on this issue. He also appealed to the GREF to find some solution to this problem. He also urged district administration of Kishtwar to ensure availability of essential things especially availability of water supply at the designated places, uninterrupted power supply and adequate supply of ration to the general people during the coming festival. Saroori also directed the police to make proper security arrangements around the Eid-Gah and Jamia Masjid during the celebration of EID festival and to ensure adequate deployment at sensitive points. SAMBA: An unidentified body was recovered by Vijaypur Police on Monday morning from a pond which is situated at village Jakh of Vijaypur of district Samba near JammuPathankot National Highway. As per police sources, the villagers saw that a human body on the top of water level in the pond and informed Vijaypur Police. SHO Vijaypur Iqbal Choudhary along with police party reached the spot and took the body into custody and sent to GMC Jammu mortuary for the identification. As per police the deceased was unknown and about 24-25 years old. Vijaypur Police has registered the case in this connection for further inquiry and investigation under section 174 CrPC initiated.

SAMBA: District Magistrate (DM), Samba, R.K Varma in exercise of powers conferred upon him under Section 8 of Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA), 1978, ordered to detain Rakesh Singh alias Villa son of Ranbir Singh resident of Village Rahya, Tehsil and Distt Samba for maximum period in the District Jail Jammu. On the basis of dossiers prepared by police, the District Magistrate has imposed PSA on Rakesh Singh and issued order for his detention to prevent him to act in any manner prejudicial and detrimental to the maintenance of tranquility and public order.
