Dear Parents/Carers
With only two full weeks until GCSE written exams commence, Year 11 are in the midst of practical assessments and revision. Year 11 students have been extremely busy this week, but have also displayed a great deal of determination and commitment. Over the last five days there have been Art exams, Spanish and French speaking exams, external moderation of GCSE PE practical scores and a full day of English revision! Congratulations go to our students Keisha, Jamie-Lee, Nicola, Jess and Mazie who received their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award at a ceremony hosted by Barton Peveril earlier in the week. Thanks go to Mr Johnson and Miss Cleaver who accompanied the girls on the night. These members of staff (along with Mr Tully and both Miss Baxs) give up many hours of their free time to help students through the DofE programme and are indeed leading another group on an expedition next weekend. Panatical yet again represented Crestwood incredibly well playing to the runners of the Southampton Marathon in glorious sunshine last weekend. Several competitors stated how heartened and motivated they were by the music. One of the runners (in the 10K race) was our very own Miss Gritti. Congratulations go to her! Options Evening was extremely well attended on Thursday night. The vast majority of Year 8 students and their parents took the opportunity to speak to staff about this important and exciting decision. We thank students and their parents for their patience in waiting to speak to staff. If there are further questions or queries, parents should not hesitate in contacting the school. We have listened to feedback and it is highly likely we will hold an Option Evening on each campus next year. Just a reminder, completed and signed Options Forms are due on Friday 4 May. We hope you all have an enjoyable and restful weekend.

Duke of Edinburgh Crestwood’s ‘D of E’ students, Mr Johnston and Miss Cleaver, attended an awards ceremony at Barton Peveril Sixth Form College on Wednesday 25th April. Guest speaker David Love, (the first man to climb the Transylvania Alps solo and in winter), talked about his adventures and how it all began when he took part in the D of E Award. He inspired the participants by showing them that this is the beginning of their future adventures. Congratulations to Keisha, Jamie-Lee, Nicola, Jess and Mazie for completing their Bronze award and we hope you will continue with your D of E in the future!
Year 8 - Options Evening Fantastic turn out for Year 8 Options Evening! Thank you to all involved for making it such a success! Wonderful to see so many students armed with so much support ready to take on their options. We have a bright future ahead.

FOOD TECHNOLOGY Year 7 and 8 have been busy demonstrating their amazing culinary skills by making lots of bread and crumbles this week! Well done to ⭐Alfie⭐ for being Bread Star Baker and well done to ⭐Scarlett⭐ for being Fruit Crumble Star Baker!
MFL - Spanish YEAR 8 - SPANISH This week Miss Gritti is got Mr Whitby’s class doing “Stepping Stones” in Spanish. With the help of the sentence-building scaffold, they were constructing ever-increasing sentences about what they do in their spare time: normally - normally I play football - normally I play football, it is fun - normally I play football, it is fun, however ...etc. The challenge was to see who could make the most steps in their sentence.
ENGLISH REVISION DAY - YEAR 11 ll of Year 11 spent today on the Cherbourg Campus, revising key skills for their language exams.
