Like this review, it is short, to the point, and explains the key concepts clearly. I for one appreciate brevity. I am a Java/web developer looking to bypass some of what I see as shortcomings of the current JavaScript language spec. I grabbed a 30-day trial copy of Webstorm, set it up for TypeScript (the integration is really good), and was able to see clearly with the very simple examples the book provides - how TypeScript compiles to very readable JavaScript. Even if I do not end up using TypeScript, it has already taught me a few things I didn't know about JavaScript. This probably isn't a good book for beginners. The concepts are presented assuming you already know JavaScript, object-oriented programming, etc. If, like me, you are someone who needs to develop in the JavaScript universe, but you are missing your static typing and object-oriented abstractions, TypeScript just might be your answer.
