Employees also enjoy: 3 weeks paid vacation, based on weekly schedule paid statutory holidays generous statutory leave benefits frequent training opportunities Job Classification: Volunteer Coordinator, Grid 12A Union: BCGEU Collective Agreement: Community Social Services Job Summary Under the supervision of Manager of Shelter Services, the Volunteer Administrator will develop a site specific volunteer program promoting opportunities for both clients and community member to participate in meaningful ways within the Rock Bay Landing shelter program. This will include programming, volunteer support, volunteer administration, and community education & promotion. Qualifications Two years of experience in the area of recruiting and supervising volunteers. Required to complete the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check prior to commencement of employment.
Skills & Abilities Previous experience in volunteer planning and development Demonstrated ability to present; good verbal and written communication skills Manage, train, supervise, and motivate volunteers and clientele Work in a team environment under time pressure, and on some weekends or evenings Skill in working with a diversity of people; ability to facilitate cooperative work Knowledge and understanding of homelessness and marginalization Organize and maintain detailed records and prepare clear and concise reports Work independently and maintain confidentiality Ability to use computers and program related software proficiently
