Redundancies Petition Fujitsu has begun implementing redundancies following the reorganisation, initially in Business Operations and Business & Application Services. Other areas are expected to follow. By handling the redundancies in batches, Fujitsu is applying shorter timescales, lower standards and greater inconsistency than staff would expect for a major redundancy programme, increasing the risk of avoidable Compulsory Redundancies. We the undersigned call on Fujitsu to: 1) Offer at least 90 days before notice of dismissal to all those at risk of redundancy, not just those covered by the Annex 1 or SEA agreements 2) Offer retraining (including in “scarce skills”) to those at risk so that they can move into other roles 3) Allow any employee whose job could be done by someone at risk to volunteer to take their place for redundancy 4) Offer redundancy terms well above the statutory minimum for everyone, as many competitors do, to encourage volunteers and mitigate the consequences of redundancy 5) Allow individuals to work their notice if they wish, which would improve opportunities for retraining and redeployment
