Erratum: Nuclear Emissions during Self-Nucleated Acoustic Cavitation [Phys. Rev. Lett. 96, 034301 (2006)] R. P. Taleyarkhan, C. D. West, R. T. Lahey, Jr., R. I. Nigmatulin, R. C. Block, and Y. Xu (Received 17 October 2007; published 26 December 2007) DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevLett.99.269901

In Fig. 4, the ‘‘Diff.’’ column should read 996, not 966, for the row relating the difference in counts with cavitation on versus off for DBen. In Fig. 5, the aggregate change value for DBUN should be 8 SD, not 14 SD. This aspect was previously pointed out during 2006 in our published Reply to Lipson Phys. Rev. Lett. 97, 149402 (2006). On page 2, column 1, last paragraph, the sentence concerning the 400% increase in neutron and the 100% increase of gammas, should read ‘‘300% increase (4) in neutron and 100% increase of gammas.’’ The factor of 4 increase of neutron-window counts over background was incorrectly translated as 400% instead of as 300%. In Figs. 10, 11, 12, and 13 of the supplemental information (see Ref. [9] of the original Letter), the arrows pointing to the proton-recoil edge (PRE) should all be pointing to channel 120 (as indicated in Fig. 4 of the main Letter Phys. Rev. Lett. 96, 034301 (2006)) and not to other channels between 120 and 130. A slight shift occurred during figure preparation for the supplement. We would like the readership to be aware of the above clarifications, and we regret the lack of attention to typographical errors not caught in time before publication. The changes mentioned above do not affect the analyses or the conclusions we have presented in our above-mentioned Letter Phys. Rev. Lett. 96, 034301 (2006). The authors appreciate the input received from worldwide readers in terms of typographical errors and the requests for clarifications. Clarifications have been requested related to the nature of neutron spectra obtained with the NE-213-type liquid scintillation detector for which a separate manuscript is planned that analyzes D-D fusion neutron transport physics of bubble fusion phenomena using independent state-of-the-art Monte Carlo techniques supported with experimental data.
