Pinnacle Studio Creating DVD Problems
I have wasted many DVDs making movies in Pinnacle Studio 14. There is no indication while rendering the video that there is a problem. After I make the DVD I play it for just a few minutes on a DVD player to make sure it looks ok then I stop it. I found out later while watching the whole DVD that the movie will freeze. It is not always at the same spot in time with different movies. You never know when it is going to freeze. I did not want to watch every move that I made with Pinnacle Studio to make sure it is not freezing up so with great experimentation I came up with a plan that has yet to cause me to waste a single DVD. I purchased Nero Rom 11 and use that program to write to the DVD. In Pinnacle Studio in make movie tab I chose to make a DVD but not to write to DVD only to make an ISO file. After the ISO file is made I can preview it with DVD shrink, which can be downloaded from the internet for free, and scan the ISO file for any problems. I have yet to have any problems with the ISO files so this indicates that the problem is with Pinnacle Studio writing to DVDs. After making the ISO file I go to the file using explorer and right click on the file and open with Nero or open with DVD Shrink. Nero or DVD Shrink will open the file and will create a DVD. After creating a DVD I can analyze the DVD using DVD shrink if you want to check for problems instead of watching the DVD. This method works great and I no longer waste DVDs.
You can also convert an ISO file with DVD Shrink if you don’t want to purchase Nero.

If you remove a DVD from the computer before shutting down Nero 11, the program with freeze up. If you use Nero to convert ISO to DVD Nero will eject the disk when done. Reinsert disk before you close Nero or the program will hang up.
