Description To teach pupils to communicate (Listening, Talking, Reading & Writing) about how to get and what do with pocket money, spending and managing pocket money, Outcomes and Experiences Codes MLAN 4.01a, 402a, MLAN 4.03a, 404a, MLAN 4-06a,MLAN 4-06b, MLAN 4.07a, 408a, 409a, 410a, MLAN4.11a, 4-11b, 4-12a, 4-13a, 4-13b, MLAN 4-14a Learning & Teaching Approaches Pupils will be taught using a variety of approaches: including, group work, paired work. This teaching block will also include a project and a presentation. Pupils will use a variety of methods to present this project, through use of IT, including powerpoint and computer research. Department resources devised in house, IT sites including www.linguascope.com , www.languageskills.co.uk, www.languagesonline.org.uk Differentiation: This unit of work will be differentiated after the initial presentation to meet the needs of individual pupils and to ensure that pupils have work which is appropriate and challenging. Pupils will be encouraged to work with a peer in order to provide support for each other. Group work will be an integral part of the first year course with project work and corroborative working being included in each module of work Personalisation and Choice Pupils will decide what they present and how they will present it. Assessment There will be a formative assessment at the end of teaching block 4 which will inform future learning. Homework Homework will include vocabulary learning twice a week and at least one piece of written homework per week. Homework of a research nature will be included during the time studying teaching block 4. Homework in English will be peer assessed. Homework in the language will be marked by the teacher. These will be carried out using a variety of methodology including discussion, survey monkey and evaluation sheets in order to inform pupils’ future learning.
