POSITION DESCRIPTION Peacebuilding & CVE Manager Washington, DC Office Job Description Equal Access International (www.equalaccess.org) seeks a Washington, DC-based Peacebuilding & CVE Manager to grow our global Peacebuilding & CVE programming. He/she will ensure high-quality program delivery and lead national and HQ-based staff in expansion and innovation around existing, planned, and new activities. This role is an ideal fit for hardworking, detail oriented, and highly motivated candidates with a clear interest in international development, participatory media, and community engagement and experience both at the field and HQ levels, as well as an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to travel regularly to the field and to play a direct role in both program implementation and business development. Primary Responsibilities: • Lead technical design, program strategy, staff training, implementation, research, and oversight of innovative CVE, peacebuilding, and innovative social and behavior change media projects, including radio, television, trainings, youth engagement, and social media campaigns. • Advance and develop EAI’s Peacebuilding and CVE programming in Africa, Asia, and new identified target regions. • Support business development efforts, including contributing to and leading new proposal development. • Design, plan, and assess innovative projects that incorporate our dual methodology of participatory media and community engagement; manage and strengthen activity delivery at all levels. • Supervise field-based Country Directors and Chiefs of Party; advise and support their management of the country teams, including human resource administration in program countries. • Strengthen EAI’s visibility and leadership in each practice area by regularly participating in fora, panels, and conferences and by writing articles, research reports, white papers, and other published products. • Supervise and mentor junior HQ-based program staff, as well as more senior field-based expatriates and national staff. • Ensure compliance with USAID, State Department, and other donor rules and regulations. • Develop work plans/GANTT charts, logic models, and M&E plans; ensure that technical activities are implemented on time and within the allocated budget and scope of work. • Implement sustainable solutions to address program vulnerabilities and risks. Professional Experience: Required: • Significant experience leading and supporting winning business development efforts, including writing proposals, designing M&E plans, and crafting cost and pricing strategies. • At least 7 years’ experience in international development. Ideally, such experience would include at least 1 year based in the field and at least 5 years in an international NGO headquarters environment or similar program support role. • Fluency (oral and written) in English and at least one of the languages of EAI’s current and future country programs (preference for French). • Financial, administrative, and strong budget management experience. • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree strongly preferred) in relevant technical 1

competency area or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Experience with M&E, work planning, donor reporting and in administering sub-grants and other partner agreements within the international development sector. Experience in managing USAID and State Department cooperative agreements and contracts and/or working for USAID/State Department. Experience with non-USG donors, including the UN, DFID, the EU, SIDA, and others.

• Preferred: • Experience in international development and community-based initiatives, particularly using community engagement (training, dialogue platforms, partnership development, grant-making) and/or local media (radio and TV). • Significant experience designing and managing media/communications for development programs. • Long-term interest in EAI’s countries of operation and practice areas (Peacebuilding & CVE, Gender Equality, and Governance & Civic Engagement). Ideal Technical Skills: • Problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to break down complex problems. • Technical expertise in conflict resolution, peacebuilding, social change, CVE, and community development. • Regional expertise in conflict-affected, post-conflict, and transitional states. • Strong communicator, both written and oral. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. • Excellent intercultural communication skills – experience in interfacing with major strategic partners, government ministries, key multilateral agencies, and local staff. • Strong attention to detail, highly motivated and ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks. • Ability to work flexibly, outside of normal office hours and in difficult conditions. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook) and email. Position details: The position is based in Washington, DC with up to 30% international travel time, sometimes in demanding and insecure environment.
