POSITION DESCRIPTION- Football Manager

All employees / volunteers at the Coburg Football Club are expected to provide the highest standards of work to ensure that the club can achieve its Vision and Mission and meet organisational objectives. Our Vision The Coburg Football Club’s vision is to become the community-based VFL Club for the northern suburbs of Melbourne, engaging with and being identified with the community hub of the Piranha Park.

The Football Manager, is responsible for the administration, management and performance of the Football Department of the Coburg Football Club by; ●

Creating professional environment for the footballers & staff representing the Coburg Football Club



Providing ongoing support and development of all players & staff within the football department



Developing clear communication within the football club including members, staff, parents, media and the Coburg Football Club board



Assist the General Manager with all operational and strategic matters relating to the Coburg Football Club.



Operate the Football Department within the Budget set by the Coburg Football Club Finance Board

FOOTBALL ADMINISTRATION ● ●

Provide consistent communication and coordination with Coburg’s TAC Cup aligned partner - the Calder Cannons Football Club. In conjunction with the Senior Coach and Football Manager, develop and coordinate the weekly distribution of the football department communication and other written interactions. In collaboration with the General Football Manager, coordinate and provide players and staff with all documentation necessary for the maintenance of their agreements with the Coburg Football Club including contracts, Handbooks etc. In conjunction with the General Manager control all football related matters and communications with and to AFL Victoria, including sporting pulse. Manage a strong working relationship with all local league clubs and communicate on an agreed schedule with local clubs who are providing a playing base for Coburg Listed players In collaboration with the General Manager, manage all Coburg Football Club tribunal cases. In conjunction with the General Manager continue to promote all off field tasks and responsibilities for both the Coburg Football Club playing group and staff Together with the Coburg Football Club General Manager and Senior Coach, manage all aspects of the Football Department Budget Provide all documentation necessary to cover the Coburg Football Club governance procedures in relation to purchases and expenditures In collaboration with the Football Manager, facilitate the Player Sponsorship program to ensure budget is reached and there is 100% take up of player sponsorship Provide key support to the General Manager is terms of developing & retaining sponsorship.

PLAYER RECRUITMENT ● ● ●

Support the facilitation of the Coburg Football Club recruitment program in collaboration with the nominated Recruitment Officers and the Coburg Football Club Senior Coach In collaboration with the General manager, develop the talent identification program for local level including local finals series & representative matches Support the General Manager and the Senior Coach in coordination of the of 3 list reviews throughout the year; at Round 5, 10 & 15.

Support the General Manager/ List Manger in the Coburg Football Club player signings and re-signings. In conjunction with the Coburg Football Club General Manager and Senior Coach, facilitate all Coburg Football Club player transfers

TRAINING ● ● ● ● ● ● ●

In collaboration with the List Manager, distribute invitations and training list to existing playing group and targeted recruits for pre season training. Organise and confirm training venues both in season and out and any associated paperwork Collate, maintain and distribute official Coburg Football Club training / event calendar Organise for the provision of all equipment and staff required for any training sessions in line with Coburg Football Club budget Coordinate all communications relating to any CFC event to all Football Staff, Admin Staff and playing group Assist the General Manager in overseeing all Coburg Football Club venue standards and security measures Efficiently communicate any maintenance or security shortfalls.

GAME DAY ●

In collaboration with the General Manager, recruit and plan for all game day football staff including * Medical Staff * Coaches * Training Staff

* Assistant Coaches

* Property Staff

* Statisticians

Support the General Manager in managing and coordinating all game day football staff In line with the Coburg Football Club budget, manage and coordinate all equipment and resources needed for Game Day Provide the most effective and efficient game day football operations by maximising the limited resources at hand Support the Football Manager in all aspects of the Coburg Football Club Match Committee

CLUB EVENTS ● ●

Assist where required in all football club related events to ensure that the club is fully represented by the football department including players & coaches Support the coordination of 3 Key player functions throughout the course of the season in cooperation with the playing group.
