Philanthropy Australia Position Description: Partnerships Manager
Job title: Partnerships Manager, Philanthropy Australia Location: Sydney, NSW Reports to: CEO, Philanthropy Australia Role: This is a 9 month maternity leave position (April to December 2014) that can be a full-time or part-time role with minimum 3 days a week (0.6 FTE). Secondment applications are also welcomed from a not-for-profit or corporate employer who recognise this unique opportunity to place an existing employee with a national peak body member organisation. Key relationships: Members of the Philanthropy Australia (PA) team Current and potential partners Purpose of role: This role offers an exciting opportunity to join Philanthropy Australia’s team and to assist with a period of significant growth and development. The Partnerships Manager is responsible for identifying, securing and fostering financial and in-kind support from partners, including corporate sponsors, trusts and foundations, private donors or philanthropists and government. Reporting to the CEO, the Partnerships Manager will work with the national team to manage and enhance existing relationships, and build new relationships by identifying and packaging partnership opportunities, and cultivating and stewarding current and prospective partners. Special projects that the role will oversee during 2014 will include developing the 2015 Business Plan in collaboration with the Deputy CEO, managing two cause related giving groups, and implementing a partnerships strategy for the Philanthropy Australia 2014 National Conference. The Partnerships Manager role is a multi-tasking role operating in a team environment. Key responsibilities: Develop and implement a robust annual Partnerships Plan in collaboration with the CEO, including goals, timetables and strategies for identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of current and prospective partners.
Identify, secure and foster new partnership opportunities in collaboration with the CEO and other PA team members.
Document proposals and contracts, and monitor all partnerships to ensure positive and purposeful activities and stewardship including evaluation and impact assessment of all partnerships.
Collaborate closely with the CEO and PA team members to ensure a consistent, central and high quality partnerships program.
Work with the Marketing and Communications team to profile partnerships where appropriate.
Philanthropy Australia Position Description: Partnerships Manager
Special projects: Providing in-house business development and strategic planning advice and support, including developing the annual Business Plan in collaboration with the Deputy CEO.
Managing two cause related giving groups - Arts and Addressing Homelessness - in collaboration with the groups’ Chairs.
Implementing a partnerships strategy for the Philanthropy Australia National Conference.
Selection Criteria: 5+ years partnerships’ sales and servicing experience.
Strong leadership qualities, including strategic thinking and ability to inspire others.
High level of relationship management skills to build relationships with members, council and staff, and key partners and stakeholders.
Highly developed written, oral communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
Highly developed research and analysis skills with high level of attention to detail.
Proven ability to prioritise a high workload and juggle competing demands.
Strong interpersonal skills, including building effective relationships, positive interaction and effective problem solving.
Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously but part of a small national team.
Interest and passion for philanthropy and the charitable sector.
The Partnerships Manager is required to develop and commit to key performance indicators (KPIs) each of which are monitored and assessed by the CEO. In addition, the Partnerships Manager is required to agree to PA’s Code of Conduct and abide by the operating values of the organisation.
