Position: Program Consultant, IDEX Accelerator Location: Nairobi, Kenya Reports to: Sr. Program Manager (Atlanta, GA‐USA) Position Summary IDEX Accelerator (IDEX) is the pioneer of a global movement that revolutionizes investments in human capital and empowers emerging leaders around the world to unleash their potential for creating impact. Since 2010, IDEX has served as an impact career launch‐pad and human capital investor for over 150 fellows from over 16 countries. We believe that by investing in aspiring leaders today, while they are beginning to determine their future career path, we are planting seeds for future leaders of tomorrow. We are determined architects working to bridge the gap between young professionals and high impact careers. In 2014, IDEX will be expanding and piloting its unique approach to human capital development in Nairobi, Kenya. IDEX is seeking a part‐time, Nairobi‐ based consultant to undertake the following work during the preliminary phase of the pilot. The Consultant will be responsible for introducing and significantly increasing our visibility in Kenya. The Consultant will be based in Nairobi and will report directly to the Sr. Program Manager in Atlanta, GA—USA. She/he will engage in outreach to a variety of potential program partners and key stakeholders and strategize to introduce and expand upon IDEX’s current brand visibility and program offerings. Specific Responsibilities Include: Business Development and Fundraising  Assess Kenya’s immediate, short‐term, and long‐term human capital needs and identify the role IDEX can play in immediate to long‐term development of human capital in Kenya and the East African region.  Manage partner engagement process as well as manage individual partner relations. Organize events that cultivate our relationships with potential partners and increase general awareness of IDEX.  Design and implement program marketing strategies, cultivate placement partner relationships, university relationships, program implementer, educator, and other relevant partners.  Launch IDEX’s program presence in Nairobi by identifying and managing relationships with social enterprises, universities, local program implementers and program partners.  Launch IDEX's program presence in new cities by identifying and managi ng relationships with social enterprises, universities, local program impl ementers and program partners

Outreach and Communications  Represent IDEX and speak at industry conferences and events in order to promote human capital investing and IDEX’s mission.  Engage in strategic partnerships with universities, policy/industry forums and networks, and media to expand IDEX’s visibility and impact.  Work collaboratively with IDEX team members to advance human capital investments throughout the region and grow in‐country Fellow applications.  Use other tools, such as social media and videos, to further create awareness among relevant constituencies. Field Operations  Identify potential candidates for the field/program coordinator position and conduct preliminary interviews, and shortlist strong and viable candidates  Identify affordable and viable housing options for fellows and secure housing option for May/June arrival of cohort Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in relevant field  At least 2‐3 years proven experience in a position with similar responsibilities  Fluent in written and spoken English  Ability to work to tight deadlines and communicate effectively  Network of relevant social enterprises, potential partners, and other relevant actors strongly desired  Strong facilitation, outreach and coalition building skills amongst diverse stakeholders  Commitment to accuracy, attention to detail and follow‐through  Flexibility to work with US based team  Ability to manage/prioritize multiple competing responsibilities independently with professionalism to ensure successful outcomes  Strong interpersonal skills: courtesy, tact, patience and strong team orint ation; assertive team player with a sense of humor Employment Status & Compensation:  Consultant (16‐24 hours/week)  Contract duration: November 1st – February 1st  Compensation commensurate with experience Application Requirements and Deadline In order to be considered, please submit a cover letter (not to exceed one page) and CV/resume to Trice Kabundi, Sr. Program Manager: [email protected] by October 21st.
