POSITION PROFILE Senior Coordinator, Special Events Job Purpose The Senior Coordinator, Special Events is an organized, dynamic, and detail-oriented individual that supports the organization to ensure the effective planning, coordination and delivery of special events for the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC). In this capacity, the incumbent is responsible for the logistical and administrative support including but not limited to: AGM/Congress, Hall of Fame, Award Ceremonies, fundraising events, Media and Partner events in addition to other special events hosted by CPC in the delivery of its mandate and brand. This individual will also be asked to participate in the delivery of other special projects as required.

Primary Responsibilities Event Coordination:
Coordination, planning and delivery of special events such as the AGM, Congress, Canadian Paralympic Hall of Fame and Awards Program, Orientation Seminar, Paralympic Schools Weeks, Canada Paralympic House, Family & Friends program, Media Events, Partnership Events, Fundraising events, and the various other conferences/events as required. Liaising with the facilities and appropriate CPC staff to complete tasks as required. Coordination and delivery of customer program, hosting and service delivery for all CPC events. Works with CPC Communications and Marketing team in brand experience integration in all CPC related events. Coordination of travel and accommodations of participants. Coordination of registration process. Under the guidance of the project lead, coordinates the budget of certain CPC events.

Qualifications Education
Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Events Management, Project Management or equivalent work experience
Knowledge and Skills
Business writing and verbal communication skills, in both official languages Attention to detail and perform work with accuracy Event/Project management methodology Proficient computer skills for: Microsoft Office Suite Project planning & tracking Smartsheets/Basecamp/MS Project Manager CRM tools Database management
Experience
Minimum of three years’ experience in event management & hosting Marketing and Brand Project coordination experience Supervising and training volunteers

Working Conditions
Work is primarily in an open, fast-paced office environment Some overnight travel and off-site work required Will be required to work evenings and weekends during the busiest periods, including Games and other special events
