Video analysis: build an application with MS-Excel 2010 – 2016 and Win 7 or 10 Step 1: how to insert the Windows Media Player (as activeX control) With MS-Excel 2010 or MS-Excel 2016: To display the 'Developer' tab: File / Options / Customize Ribbon / in the right column, select the 'Developer' check box Goal of this step 1: Insert a Windows Media Player (WMP) Use and browse the video clip of your choice with the WMP control panel Insert the Windows Media Player (WMP): Developer tab/ Controls zone / Insert / ActiveX Controls / More Controls

In the new dialog box, select Windows Media Player and click OK button

Your click on OK button turns ON the Design Mode. You are in 'Creative mode'. Remind to click OFF the design mode to comeback to User Mode. Customize your video clip The shape of the mouse is now a cross +

Right click on the WMP to select properties.

Place the WMP on the sheet with the sight + Left click to define the upper left corner, keep left click on, draw a diagonal then release the left button.

In the new dialog box, select Custom.

(1) Click on the grey button in the (Custom) line (2) You will obtain a new grey dialog box (Properties of Windows Media Player), then click on Browse (3) Select your video clip (06_11_1_sc_Xvid.AVI) with the new dialogue box 'Open' and click the Open button You can write an URL address (and the name of a video clip) to work on line i.e.: http://www.mywebsite/videos/clip.avi (4) Uncheck the automatic start option, then click OK to close the grey dialogue box.

Turn off the Design Mode Close the WMP dialog box You can use the control panel to display your video clip in the Windows Media Player. If your video clip is not displayed: - Is it the right video format? (AVI codec XVID, MP4, MKV) - Did you install right codecs in your computer? (i.e.: for example, K Lite Codec mega pack) - You can try this video clip: 06_11_1_sc_Xvid.AVI
