Continue In Prayer For Nigeria!

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty (1 Timothy 2:1-2).

I

n praying for our country, we must learn to pray earnestly and not to give up. In Luke 18:1, Jesus said: men ought always to pray and not to give up. So, never be weary of praying for Nigeria. Elijah was a man like any of us, and the Bible says he prayed that there would be no rain and the earth was without rain for three and a half years. He prayed again and the heavens supplied rain. How was he able to do it? He continued in prayer: “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]” (James 5:16 AMP). For us to change things in our country through prayers, we have to pray the kind of prayer Elijah prayed: earnest, heartfelt and continued prayer. This is a sustained kind of prayer that is marked by a deep feeling of conviction. You don’t just pray it once and stop; you continue seriously and earnestly, until you achieve your purpose for praying. So, it doesn’t matter in which sector in our country you want things changed; as one individual, you can effect that change if you’d pray in the manner we’re studying today. For example, the transformation and revolution we’ve all desired in our power and energy sector could become a reality sooner than we all realize if we would take to this kind of praying. So from today, pray in a heartfelt,

continued manner for the government and government officials manning the power and energy sector! Pray that the Lord will grant the leaders the required ideas and the wisdom to do what’s right and necessary to revamp that sector! Pray against negative forces, ideas and policies that have worked against progress in that sector, and dare to expect results. Don’t give up praying for Nigeria. Continue in earnest prayer for the country, her leaders and the different sectors of the economy until you achieve your desired objective in prayer!

Prayer Dear Father, I pray for Nigeria, that there’ll be continued progress and development in all sectors of her economy. I ask for the supply of your grace to all our leaders and the wisdom to know and to do what is required for the nation to experience growth and development according to your good intent, in Jesus’Name. Amen.

You’re Lifted In Lifting Others

It is possible to give away and become richer! It is also possible to hold on too tightly and lose everything. Yes, the liberal man shall be rich! By watering others, he waters himself (Proverbs 11:24-25 TLB).

I

t’s not enough to live long; it’s what you live for that really matters. There are those who lived for more than a hundred years, but made no impact in the lives of the people around them; there was just nothing significant in their lives. These are the ones that constitute problems to the economy of the world because they’ve not contributed anything; they only take, never giving back. Are you contributing positively to the advancement of the lives of those around you? This is a question you must ask yourself and truthfully answer by yourself. You must make up your mind to live a meaningful life. One that’ll make the world move forward, touching the lives of others in a positive way. If you bless people, you’ll always be lifted. This is because you’re lifted as you lift others! Your promotion is in your promoting others. Your success would only be discovered when you make others successful. You’ll never discover the treasure God has kept in you until you reach out to help someone else become something. That’s where real joy is! This is because “The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself” (Proverbs 11:25). Hallelujah! God will make happen for you, what you make happen for others. So keep helping those around you stand strong and tall; help them discover their God-given potentials; be a part of their success story. If you’re an employer, help

those in your employ realize their dreams for success. In the same way, as an employee in the civil service or any other organization, be diligent; commit yourself to improving that organization. Make the progress of that organization your watchword, for in her prosperity shall you also prosper.

Prayer Dear heavenly Father, I ask that you grant me today, the grace, wisdom and strength to always recognize the need of those around me, that I may bring them hope, and inspire them to success and greatness. I thank you for making me a lifter and a helper of others. Today, I choose to help someone be a success, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Pray For God’s People In Nigeria

Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you... (2 Thessalonians 3:1).

I

t’s our priestly ministry as believers to pray for our fellow brothers and sisters in our country, that through them, God’s Word will be preached in the nooks and crannies of our nation. Paul in his epistles, admonished believers to pray for his missionary work: “Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds” (Colossians 4:3). This lets us know that we also must pray that the Holy Spirit will grant the saints in our country utterance and opportunities to preach the gospel where they are. In the scripture we just read, Paul highlighted two important points: utterance and opportunities. You might have the utterance and not have the opportunity to preach the gospel, and vice versa; this is the reason we must intercede as admonished by the Spirit through Paul in Colossians 4:3. There’re certain communities in some parts of our country today where people can’t openly preach the gospel. We must pray that Christians in such places be strengthened with the might of the Spirit, and that opportunities and utterance be granted them to preach the mystery of Christ. If every Christian would pray with this consciousness, there will be greater impact of the Word of God throughout

our country. Also, Paul said, “…that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith” (2 Thessalonians 3:2). The Greek word translated “delivered” is “rhuomai”; it alludes to the rushing of a current or a flood. By implication, he’s saying that God will rush to deliver—get His people out of the clutches of wicked and of unreasonable men, who are against the preaching of the gospel. Get concerned about what happens to Christians in your neighbourhood, community, and in the nation at large, and let your concern drive you to your knees in prayer.

Prayer Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for making me an intercessor, one to stand in the gap for your children in Nigeria. I live up to this call today, as I pray that you’ll grant utterance, boldness and opportunity to Christians in Nigeria, especially in places where the light of the gospel of Christ’s salvation is dim, to preach your Word with mighty miracles, signs and wonders, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Change The Country By Changing “Your World!”

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light… (Genesis 1:2-3).

O

ne of the fundamental principles of success is looking out for a human need, and then reaching out to meet that need. When you consciously and consistently seek ways to improve your environment and make the world around you better than you met it, you’ll be a success. So, always ask yourself, “What can I do to improve my world?” Your world is your sphere of contact; and if we all commit ourselves to changing our world—our immediate environment—we will ultimately change the country. Thus, beginning with your sphere of contact, do something to improve the polity. This is the mindset of achievers, go-getters and visionaries; they seek to change their environment. Don’t accept the status quo. Our country needs problem-solvers who’ll make new discoveries and proffer new thoughts and ideologies that’ll move the nation forward. Be that visionary that the country is looking for; one who’ll step out from the crowd, find a need, and reach out to meet that need! Inspire others to positive action. Instead of asking for help and waiting for others to give to you, be the helper! Be the giver. Be a solution-provider. Jesus said you’re the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). That means you’ve been called to show others the way, for light gives direction; so teach others how to live.

Refuse to let your mind go to sleep. Put the wisdom of God in you to work today, and break new grounds; blaze new trails; chart new frontiers. Make a difference where you are. God brought you into this country so that, through you, He’ll touch others with His love, power, glory and grace.

Prayer Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for giving me the inspiration, motivation and ability to conceive and execute divine ideas that’ll make the world a better place. Thank you for making me a blesser and a giver as I impact my world with the investment of my personality, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Fundamental Divine Rights

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1).

I

n the concept of nationhood as it is in the world, the fundamental human rights of the individual citizen is a much celebrated ideology. Citizens are required to know their fundamental human rights so they can take advantage of such rights and privileges. These are rights and freedoms to which all humans are entitled. Such entitlements can exist as shared norms of actual human moralities, as justified moral norms or natural rights supported by strong reasons, or as legal rights either at a national level or within international law. However, as important as it may be for you to know your fundamental human rights and pursue them, there’s something far superior and more worthy for you to pursue and take advantage of, and that’s your “fundamental divine rights.” If you’re born again, then you automatically belong in God’s country called Zion, with divine rights and privileges: “But ye are come unto mount zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem…” (Hebrews 12:22). So, look beyond your natural human rights to the glorious heavenly blessings, rights and privileges of those who are born into God’s Kingdom! Just as it’s wrong for your fundamental human rights to be violated, God doesn’t want anything or anyone to violate your divine rights, such as the right to live in health, prosperity, victory, success, dominion and excellence; the right to reign and rule over

the circumstances of life and exercise dominion over satan and the powers of darkness. To best explore and take advantage of your fundamental divine rights, privileges and inheritance in Christ, you’d have to study God’s Word, for that’s our heavenly bill of rights and manual for daily living. In it, you’d discover who you are, what you have, and what you can do in Christ. You don’t need to beg God, or pray till hell freezes over to begin enjoying these rights and other blessings in Christ Jesus. They are yours NOW; they’re your present hour-possessions. So, lay claims to them and begin to enjoy them.

Confession I belong in God’s superior class of divine beings; therefore I look beyond the natural realm of existence to my heavenly rights, blessings and provisions in Christ Jesus! I recognize today and take hold of my divine right to live in health, prosperity, victory, success, dominion and excellence! I thank you Lord Jesus, for giving me the right to reign and rule over the circumstances of life and exercise dominion over satan.

Selfless Service—A Key To Greatness!

… Whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant (Matthew 20:26-27).

O

ur opening scripture underscores the responsibility of service—selfless service—as key to greatness! Today, the Lord is letting us know that whoever must be great should be a servant—a minister. Now, the word “minister” as used above is from the Greek word “diakonos,” which means an attendant, one who serves or runs errands for others; one who renders selfless service. You’ve been called to service; both of God and of mankind. God is mindful of, and concerned about, people more than anything else. Thus, when you serve people through your work, the Lord will be mindful of you and bless you as well. He’ll cause everything you do to prosper. The Bible says there’s profit in all labour (Proverbs 14:23). In other words, when you faithfully render service, you’ll surely prosper. You may be a policeman, civil servant, or even the chief executive of a corporation; it doesn’t matter the job or business you do, when your goal is to render quality and selfless service, your greatness will be inevitable. Greed has stopped many from serving their nation and people as they should. Don’t let that be your story. Don’t let the desire for excessive and inordinate gain be your driving force in life. Refuse to yield yourself to such. Become motivated by the joy of service. Be inspired

by the importance and relevance of your job or business towards the betterment of your society. Make yourself needed, relevant and indispensable to your generation by choosing to serve, for that is the pathway to greatness.

Prayer Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for inspiring me today to be service-conscious, and to be motivated by the dream of impacting others with the investment of my personality. I pray that you’ll grant me increased grace and wisdom to serve you and those for whom Christ died, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Pray For Our Fledgling Democracy

...Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you (John 16:23).

W

hen interceding for our country, there are certain areas we must focus on and have a clear goal in mind as we pray. One of such is our political process. It’s our duty to pray for our politicians and also pray that elections be conducted in a manner that’s void of rancour and manipulations, with only the right candidates voted into the different offices. We can achieve this because our opening scripture lets us know that whatever we ask the Father in the Name of Jesus shall be granted us. Therefore, we can ask the Father in the Name of Jesus for free and fair elections in our fledgling democracy, where, by the influence of God’s Spirit Nigerians will vote with a conscience, and their votes will count indeed. We can pray that our politicians and all those vying for political offices will be inspired and driven by the joy and dignity of service, and not by personal or inordinate ambitions. Through our prayers, we can bring the fear of God and influence of righteousness to bear upon our country and in the hearts of those responsible for the conducts of the elections, such that they’ll be motivated to do what is right. The Bibles says “For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth” (Isaiah 62:1). This is the attitude we must have in praying for the country. We must be passionate and fervent in prayer until our country is established in righteousness and the torch of salvation blazes with unquenchable intensity. That way, righteousness will rule men’s heart, and no one will want to cheat, steal or kill to gain political power or recognition. According to the scriptures, when the right people are voted

into office, there’ll be joy and prosperity in the country. But when the wrong people are in power, there’s hardship, and everyone groans: “When good people run things, everyone is glad, but when the ruler is bad, everyone groans” (Proverbs 29:2 MSG). Do you now see how important it is that we pray and allow the Spirit of God lead us in choosing our leaders? So as the country prepares for the next general elections, make it a point of duty to pray that only the right candidates—men and women that’ll function in the will of God—will be voted into political offices. Pray that men and women of proven integrity, with the sole aim and objective to serve the country and improve the polity will win our votes. Also, pray that there’ll be peace throughout the country to ensure the free and fair conduct of the polls. Pray against the activities of wicked and unreasonable men, who may be planning to instigate unrest and other activities that are inimical to the conduct of credible elections in our country.

Prayer

Dear Father, in the Name of Jesus, I pray for the successful conduct of our upcoming general elections, and that candidates whom you’ve trained and inspired for leadership in our country will step out and be voted into political offices! I declare that the elections will be free and fair, and forbid satan from influencing those in charge to manipulate the results. Amen.

Work To “Make A Giving,” Not A Living!

Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth (Ephesians 4:28).

I

n our country, there’re many who believe the reason they should work is so they can make ends meet, or earn a living. But that’s not what the Word of God teaches. Our opening scripture reveals that the reason you ought to work is so you would have to give; you work to “make a giving,” not a living. Some people live as though the Bible says “Your God shall supply all your needs according to how much you’re paid at your place of work.” You need to look to the Lord as your source of income and livelihood, and not to your job. He supplies all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Natural circumstances may try to force you to believe that your job or business is the only means by which you can receive money, but refuse to let such a thought rule your life. The Bible didn’t say “Work, that you may have money”; rather, it says, “work that you may have to give.” Your job is a medium or channel through which you bless others and in so doing, you also are rewarded. Giving is God’s established medium to prosper you financially. Therefore, it doesn’t matter how much you’re paid at your job or business, never take it as your source of income. This doesn’t in anyway mean that you handle your job with levity. Do your job with excellence and shun mediocrity, and the Lord will promote you.

Confession Heavenly Father, I recognize you as my source of wealth and prosperity. I rejoice to know that I can always rely on you to supply all my needs according to your riches in glory, by Christ Jesus! I look up to you today, and always for my promotion and prosperity. Amen.

Let Others Benefit From Your Prosperity!

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work (2 Corinthians 9:8).

T

here’re different levels of prosperity at which God’s people function. Some are in the first level, where they have just enough to get by. Some, however, are on the next level where they have more than enough to take care of themselves, their family and a few others. Then, there’re those who are in the arena of abundance, where they can do so much for themselves and for many others. However, God’s desire for you is that you move from the realm of abundance into the realm of super-abundance, where you’re financially strong enough to do whatever you want to do that’s good for God and for people, whenever you want to do it, however you want to do it! This is the level of prosperity you should strive to function in, where you’re able to help others. Our country needs more of such men and women today, who are willing and able to bring succour and relief to the less privileged amongst us. There’re many orphans, widows, and other needy people that could benefit from your prosperity. The Bible says in Proverbs 19:17 “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.” Also, the Bible says the generous man is blessed for giving to the poor (Proverbs 22:9). Our opening scripture describes God’s commitment to you, when you dedicate yourself to a lifestyle of giving; He (God) “…is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need, be self-sufficient

[possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]” (2 Corinthians 8:9 Amp). God’s resources are limitless; His wealth is infinite. As His kids, we’re His heirs; all that He has belongs to us. Therefore, choose to function at the level of superabundance. The way to press into this realm of prosperity is through giving: “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom…” (Luke 6:38). Through giving, you multiply riches and wealth. Keep looking out for opportunities to be a blessing to others, and the Spirit of God, apart from helping you increase your capacity to give more, will cause you to dwell in the realm of super-abundance, where others will benefit from your prosperity.

Confession Through my giving, mighty harvests of financial blessings are coming to me, and my capacity to give is increased today by the power of God’s Spirit. I’m a big-time sponsor of the gospel! The Kingdom of God is moving forward because of me. Hallelujah.

Pray For Lasting Peace In The Country!

…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working] (James 5:16 AMP).

F

rom our opening scripture it’s evident that you can change anything through prayer, because the divine power necessary to cause that change is in you; it was deposited in you the moment you received the Holy Spirit into your life: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…” (Acts 1:8). Through prayer, we can activate the power of God and effect changes in the realm of the Spirit. We can bring that power to bear on situations and circumstances we want changed. For example, we can put a stop to the recurrent spate of violence and wanton destruction of lives and property as experienced lately in the Middle Belt and Niger Delta regions, and other parts of our country. Through our effectual, fervent prayers we can forbid any further crisis in those regions and implant lasting peace; we’ve been mandated to do this: “And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace” (Jeremiah 29:7). Consequently, the onus is on you to seek the peace of the entire country. You’re to pray to the Lord for it. You should intervene in prayer today, and for as long as it takes for peace to mantle the country and rule the hearts of the citizens. Pray fervently in other tongues and declare that God’s angels of peace are released into every hitherto

troubled region in our country to cause the peace of God to garrison the hearts of men and women domiciled therein. With authoritative words, rebuke satanic forces and break the stronghold of evil, wickedness and violence over our country. Declare that satan’s dominion over those in political offices and other positions of authority is broken; therefore his maneuvering acts and manipulative tendencies to foment violence through them is thwarted. Set yourself to pray like this often—earnestly, fervently, passionately and intensely for our country, and there’ll surely be greater peace and prosperity within our borders.

Prayer Father, in the Name of Jesus, I pray for the Middle Belt and Niger Delta regions of Nigeria, declaring the restoration of lasting peace and stability! I rebuke every satanic ploy and tendencies to foment violence in these regions, and pray for increased influence and impact of the Gospel. Amen.

Look Inside pastor chris

Weary not yourself to be rich; cease from your own [human] wisdom (Proverbs 23:4 AMP).

S

ome people believe the reason they’re suffering or poor is because of the kind of work they do. That’s not true! The problem isn’t in the kind of work they do; rather it’s in their minds. Many of them think their success in life is hinged on making money through hard work, so they struggle and struggle till they get frustrated. When I was much younger, I knew I would never be poor. Not just because of what I knew from the Word of God, but because there were three things I had learnt to do properly: I could shine shoes, wash cars, and sew clothes. I remember when I started sewing; my dad had just given me a shirt which was way bigger than my actual size. So I had to amend it to be able to wear it, and I did, using my mum’s sewing machine. Of course, it looked funny by the time I was through, but I achieved something! I saw abilities within me. As time went on, I learnt how to cut properly and I got better until I became convinced that if I had to be a tailor, I would be the best. You have the capacity for great creative ideas; therefore look inside you for them. Those ideas, if properly harnessed, are more valuable than money. If you nurse your ideas long enough and discipline yourself in their direction, you’ll become very good at what you do after a while and money will eventually come to you, for money is a slave of ideas.

Your success, prosperity and greatness are not determined by your geographical location or by the economy of the nation where you function. Rather, your mind is what determines what you become, for with your mind you can change everything else. You can change the state of your nation and the economy; you can change anything if only you’ll have the right thoughts in your mind.

Prayer Dear Father, I thank you for giving me a creative mind from which inspiring ideas are born. As I discipline myself in the direction of my Godgiven ideas today, my skills are improved and I get better at what I do, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

od is love (1 John 4:16). In other words, that’s His nature. His character is that of love. Some people refer to Him as a ‘loving God.’ He’s not just loving, He is love. And since the Bible declares that you’re made in His image and in His likeness (Genesis 1:26), it means you’re just like Him. You have His nature and character of love: you’re the love-child of a love-God. As He is love, so are you called to walk in love. As He has loved you, so are you meant to love Him and love those for whom Jesus died. When the Holy Spirit reveals God to you and you get to know Him, His love will dominate you. This is because the more you love Him, the more like Him you become. You’ll begin to talk like Him because you’ll start thinking like Him. As you meditate on His love for you, you’ll start demonstrating that same love in your life. It becomes easy for you to love people and show it. “I love you” is part of the love-language in the Kingdom of God. Therefore, as a child of God, you must train yourself not only to demonstrate love through your actions, you must also speak the love-language. In the opening scripture we read that the love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost. So, it is natural for you to walk in love. It is possible for you to love everybody, including those who portray themselves as your enemies. Little wonder the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:44: “Love your enemies, bless them

that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” Remember, God sent Jesus because He loved you, and not that you were very nice and kind (Romans 5:8), Therefore, you ought also to love everyone around you, whether or not they’re nice to you. You’re a product of love. When you begin to think this way, you’ll see others through the eyes of love. You’ll see them the way God sees them. To God, everyone is valuable and priceless, even the sinner. That’s why He sent Jesus to die and wipe away sin. So get this consciousness: the love of God is shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Ghost; therefore let your words and action be full of love, care and tenderness, for you’re the love-child of a love-God.

Confession The love of God has been deposited in my heart by the Holy Spirit; therefore I walk in love today. I do not walk in bitterness, malice or anger. Everywhere I go, I profusely diffuse the pleasant aroma of God’s love which is a product of my recreated human spirit. I am the love-child of a love-God!

Pray For God’s People Experiencing Persecutions

Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body (Hebrews 13:3).

I

n Acts 12, the disciples of Jesus found themselves in a predicament: Herod had seized James and killed him. When he discovered that this pleased the Jews, he went further and apprehended Peter. The Church had by this time realized that if they didn’t intercede for Peter, he would suffer the same fate as James. Consequently, the Bible says “…prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him (Peter).” Whilst they were praying, Peter was rescued miraculously from the prison by an angel of the Lord. Thank God they had learnt their lesson; albeit, at a high cost. It’s important that we intercede for our fellow brothers and sisters who are experiencing persecutions. Sadly however, some believers only come together to talk about how bad things have gone and all the evil happening in the world. They shut their eyes to the problems other believers are facing. I tell people that there are no casual visits. Every time you have the opportunity to be with another believer, don’t spend all the time on trivial or irrelevant discussions; take some time to join your hands together in intercession for brethren in the Church. Don’t be lazy in praying for other believers around the world and interceding for men everywhere. Be actively involved in this; and the good things you make happen for others, God will make happen for you.

Prayer Dear Father, thank you for making the souls of men all over the world beautiful to me. I thank you for stirring in me the spirit of intercession, and today, I make power available for salvation, healing, restoration and protection for my brothers and sisters in Christ, all over the world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Celebrate Your Victories

…Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith… (Hebrews 12:1-2).

S

ometimes, there’s the temptation to feel discouraged when you feel others around you seem to be making more progress than you. However, such a feeling is absolutely unnecessary, because you don’t measure your success with the success of someone else. Rather, you measure your success with how much you’re walking in the will of God for your life. That someone else is succeeding doesn’t mean you’re failing, for God has called us to fulfill different areas of His vision. The reason many get into unhealthy competition and strife is their ignorance of this truth. You need to understand that you’re unique, and nobody can do that which God has asked you to do as excellently as you. Therefore refuse to compete or compare yourself with someone else. Focus on your calling; work on outdoing your past and not somebody else. This consciousness will make your life full of rest, because you’ll learn to measure your success through God’s Word. Thus, rather than get jealous or envious because someone else is doing well; join them to celebrate their victories. John the Baptist, for example, was filled with the Holy Spirit while he was in his mother’s womb and was described by Jesus as the greatest of all born of women (Matthew 11:11). Yet, his ministry as the forerunner to the

Messiah lasted only six months. This was God’s purpose for his life, and he fulfilled it. God has a unique plan for your life, different from that of any other living person. His plans and purposes for you are distinct, because He doesn’t have, has never had, and will never have a replica of you! You’re the only “you” that God has and will ever have. So, take pleasure in who you are and in what God is doing in your life; learn to celebrate your victories.

Prayer Dear Father, I know that I was born for a purpose, and that is to bring glory and honour to your Name. I receive the grace to run my own race of life with joy and fulfillment, recognizing and appreciating all the victories and successes you wrought through me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

You’re The Glory Of God

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one (John 17:22).

T

he Bible says Jesus is the brightness of God’s glory; the express image of His person (Hebrews 1:3), however, 1 John 4:17 says “As He is, so are we in this world.” Meaning that as Jesus is the expression of God’s glory, you also are the expression of God’s glory. Now you can understand the reason Jesus said in the opening scripture “the glory which thou gavest me I have given them….” As Christians, we’re the fruit of Christ’s suffering. The Bible talks about the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should be revealed (1 Peter 1:11); we’re that glory; we’re His trophies. We’re the glory Jesus saw that made Him endure the cross and despise the shame (Hebrews 12:2). No wonder the Bible declares that glorious things are spoken of you (Psalm 87:3). Not only have you been brought into the glory of God, you’re the glory of God. This is not just to excite you, but to let you know who you are as a child of God. You’ve been called into the life of glory! The glory is yours. See yourself in the glory; see yourself before the glory; see yourself walking in the glory; see yourself carrying the glory; see yourself as the glory! The Bible says, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18). The Sprit of God is letting you

know that the Word of God is your mirror. As you study the Word, you’re looking at yourself in the mirror of God, and the image of you that you see is actually the glory of God, meaning that your name is ‘the glory of God.’ What a confession; to get to know and declare that you’re the Glory of God! It’ll change the springs in your steps. You’re the glory of God; that’s why you cannot be defeated! That’s why you cannot be poor. That’s why you cannot be destroyed! Keep looking at the mirror of God— which is His Word—and see who you really are. The Bible says the more you look at the glory in the mirror of God, the more you’re transfigured; you become more and more like the image of the glory that you see in the mirror. Praise God!

Prayer Dear heavenly Father, thank you for my life which is for your glory. I declare that everywhere I go, your glory is revealed and manifested through me, for I’m a carrier of your glory. I ask that daily, you’ll help me walk in this consciousness that I am the glory of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Edifying Communication

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers (Ephesians 4:29).

I

n very instructive and categorical terms, the Spirit of God, through the Apostle Paul admonishes us not to engage in unwholesome or corrupt communication. Rather, the words that proceed out of your lips should be words that’ll render healing to a broken heart, courage to the discouraged, and comfort to the afflicted. The Bible let’s us know that a perfect man is the one who doesn’t offend in word (James 3:2). His words are consistent with God’s Word. When he speaks, his hearers are blessed, uplifted and edified. That’s because his words are seasoned with grace. Some people are so used to criticizing others instead of blessing and praying for them. Make a deliberate decision to keep away from destructive criticisms. Let your words be kind and affectionate. Refuse to have itching ears for gossips, and don’t company with those who are fond of discussing the affairs of others: “And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not” (1 Timothy 5:13). Thus as a Christian, choose to communicate like your heavenly Father. Let your words concerning people be graceful, inspiring, motivating and encouraging.

Confession God has given me the tongue of the learned; therefore I know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary. I consciously speak only words that minister grace and edify the hearer. I refuse to engage in any unwholesome or defaming communication; through the help of the Spirit, my words are inspiring, motivating, encouraging and always full of grace!

Ride Above The Economic System

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).

A

ll things are functioning together for your good; the plants, air, electricity and everything in this earth. This simple, yet powerful thought will change your life if you can only believe it. There’s no one with a good enough idea to stop your prosperity and victory. So you see, it’s impossible for you to be disadvantaged if you live in this truth. The systems of this world are programmed to fail, therefore ride above them! Don’t play by their rules; employ Kingdom ideas and principles in your dealings. It makes no difference how terrible the economic situation may be, you’re still not a victim. Your prosperity is not dependent on government policies, for the Word of God is greater and more powerful than any government. God has chosen you out of this world (John 15:19). Therefore, no system of government can work to your disadvantage if you function by God’s Word. The Bible says, “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” (Isaiah 1:19). You know there’s much evil in the land, but if you hearken to the Lord’s instructions only the good in the land will be your lot. The God who commanded light to shine out of darkness (2 Corinthians 4:6) can cause you to prosper in famine or austere times. He did it for Isaac (Genesis 26:114), and He can do the same for you. Yes, the economic,

political and social systems of today’s world may be defective; but they’ll work for your good.

Confession I am not of this world; I have been chosen out from among the masses. All things are working together for my good. I ride above the social, political and economic systems of this world through faith, and by the power of God’s Spirit! I have overcome the world.

Refuse The Beggarly Life!

The Spirit Himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ… (Romans 8:16-17).

G

od’s promise to bless Abraham and make Him great wasn’t just to Abraham alone but to his seed after him. God made a covenant with Abraham and through that covenant He willed the whole world to him and his seed. Understand that the seed referred to here isn’t Isaac, Abraham’s physical descendant, but to Christ: “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ” (Galatians 3:16). God was looking beyond Abraham’s physical children; He was looking at Christ. Then the Bible tells us “…if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29). Thus we’re the seed of Abraham and by extension the possessors of all things. All the promises God made to Abraham, by which he became the possessor of all things are fulfilled in us! That means you also have become the possessor of heaven and earth like Abraham. No wonder the Apostle Paul looked at the new creation man and came to this conclusion: “…all things are yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21). Refuse to live a beggarly life. When you pray, you no longer have to cry to God, asking Him to bless or help you! There’s really no reason to ask Him for anything for yourself anymore because as His heir, the whole world belongs to you. You’re the possessor of all things. Let this mindset

control the way you live.

Confession I refuse to beg and I refuse to lack, because I’m an heir of God and a joint-heir with Christ. I have dominion and influence in the Name of Jesus! I’m making progress, moving forward, waxing greater and greater by the day, because I’m blessed with faithful Abraham.

How To Receive Salvation

...If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10).

T

he acknowledgement and confession of the Lordship of Jesus Christ is the God-ordained way to receive salvation. There’re many who believe that for a sinner to be saved he must confess all his sins to God, but that’s not true. You don’t receive salvation by confessing your sins. The Bible doesn’t say “If thou shall confess with thy mouth all your sins, then thou shall be saved”; rather, it says, “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved….” This is the simple way to salvation. When you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is The Son Of God and that God raised Him from the dead, you’re made right with God. But then to enjoy what you have believed—to enjoy the full benefits of salvation, you’ll have to confess, that is, affirm with your mouth, the Lordship of Jesus. That you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died for you is not enough. Even the devils, according to the Bible also believe and tremble (James 2:19), but that doesn’t mean they’re saved. Believing is not enough. You’d have to announce your believing; say it with your mouth, for “with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.” Once you make that

proclamation of the Lordship of Jesus, it catapults you into salvation! Thus, that which you believe—the Lordship of Jesus Christ—becomes real to you, and changes everything about your life! You become awakened to the fatherhood of God. It doesn’t matter that you’re the “nicest” person around. You can’t trust in your good deeds to save you. Jesus said in John 3:7 “ye must be born again”; this is not a suggestion. There’s a definite act required for salvation; it’s the confession of the Lordship of Jesus. So, if you’re not yet born again, you can do so right away by praying this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I ask that you come into my heart and be the Lord of my life from this day forward. I confess with my mouth that you are Lord of my life, and believe in my heart that God raised you from the dead; thank you that I am saved now.”

Confession

Dear Father, I thank you for your great love towards me and for your grace that brings salvation which has appeared unto all men. Thank you for the opportunity and privilege to receive your gospel which is your power to save, heal and deliver. I declare with my mouth that Jesus is Lord of my life and saviour of my soul. Amen.

Something Greater Than Religion!

… And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch (Acts 11:26).

Ask people about the major religions of the world, and the first one many would probably mention would be Christianity. But there’s nothing in the Bible that suggest Christianity is a religion. Though many Christians have even helped propagate the notion that Christianity is “the world’s greatest and most respected religion,” the truth is, Christianity is not a religion. Religion is man’s work towards God, but Christianity is God’s work in man. It’s a call to oneness with Divinity. Christianity is Christ alive in you. Little wonder the Bible says in Colossians 1:26-27 MSG: “This mystery has been kept in the dark for a long time, but now it’s out in the open. God wanted everyone, not just Jews, to know this rich and glorious secret inside and out, regardless of their background, regardless of their religious standing. The mystery in a nutshell is just this: Christ is in you, therefore you can look forward to sharing in God’s glory. It’s that simple. That is the substance of our Message.” God didn’t want us looking up or reaching out to heaven for Him; He wasn’t even satisfied to merely be with or live amongst us as “Emmanuel”—God with us (Matthew 1:23). Rather, He chose to take up His abode in the quarters of our hearts! That’s Christianity! It’s the life of God lived out through you. It’s the unveiling of the Living Word in a human life! Until this becomes a personal revelation to you,

all you have will be mere religion. Thus, the reason we go to church, pray, preach the gospel and do the things we do as Christians isn’t because we’ve received a religion, but because we’ve received God’s nature—His life. That’s what Jesus brought to us. He made it possible for us to receive into our spirits the same quality of life that only God has: “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). Thus, if you’re born again, you’ve become a partaker of God’s divine nature, having been imparted with His life! This is what it means to be a Christian—having the nature of God in your spirit and His pulsating life in every fibre of your being!

Prayer Dear Father, I thank you for the wonderful life you’ve given me, and the glorious fellowship you’ve called me into! Thank you for making me a partaker of your divine nature. You’ve given me life to the full—the ever-winning life of success, progress, peace and prosperity; something greater than religion. Amen.

Satan Is Defeated pastor anita

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).

A

s one who is born again, not only has Jesus given you power and authority to cast satan out, He also made you superior to him and all his demons. The resurrection of Jesus made a champion of you. The Bible says you were raised up together, and made to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6). You’re seated with Christ, far above all principality and power, so you’re superior to them! God has already done everything He needs to do about the devil; it’s now your responsibility to resist him and put him to flight. The Bible says when you resist the devil he’ll flee from you terrified (James 4:7). He is programmed to flee when you resist him, and you resist him by maintaining your confessions of God’s Word. You need to know that the devil is already a defeated foe; it’s your responsibility to stall his maneuvers and manipulations in and around you. Perhaps he may have afflicted someone close to you, maybe a loved one; but you can declare today, in the Name of Jesus, that he takes his filthy hands off that loved one. Don’t pray, “O God, please stop the devil!” No. You’re the one to run satan out of your home. Vain religion says “O God, don’t let the devil come after me!” But when you know who you are in Christ, you say “I’m not going to let the devil have a foothold in my life!”

“I’m not going to let the devil have my son, or daughter; I’m not going to allow his manipulations around me!” Remember, God has given you the authority to keep the devil where he belongs—under your feet.

Confession I have dominion over sin, sickness and circumstances. I’m superior to satan, and I’ve overcome the world. I am seated together with Christ in the heavenly realms, far above all principality and power! I exercise the authority of Christ in and around my sphere of contact, in Jesus Name!

Praying For The Nation—Our Solemn Responsibility

Never stop praying, especially for others…stay alert and keep praying for God’s people (Ephesians 6:18 CEV).

S

omeone once said the only ingredient necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing. How true! In our nation today, there’re those who blame God for the things that go wrong. It’s the same everywhere; people blame God for everything—the earthquakes, rainstorms, mudslides, and other disasters. They make such statements as “If God didn’t want such and such to happen, why didn’t He prevent it?” Such people have forgotten or are unaware that the responsibility as well as the authority to establish the will of God in the earth, and keep the devil and his demons at bay has been delegated to the Church. It’s our responsibility, not God’s, to ensure that whatever changes we seek in our lives as individuals and as a nation are effected; and one of the ways we do this is through prayer. The apostle Paul reiterated the same admonition in 1Timothy 2:1-2: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” Too many people assume that someone else is praying for the country, instead of taking up the responsibility of praying for the nation. Don’t put the fate of your country in the hands of others; bear the responsibility as though it only depended on you. So in praying for the nation, you pray for the President, cabinet members, governors, senators and all those who are in positions of authority. Ask the Lord to grant them wisdom, and surround them with godly men and women

who will advise them rightly, in line with God’s perfect will. Pray for the young people in our country, that they’ll shun violence and evil vices and apply their energies to serve God and humanity. Pray that the Word of God will grow mightily, prevail and be glorified in our country. Then also, pray that many more will hear and receive the Gospel, and faith will be stirred in their hearts to appropriate the benefits of salvation in Christ Jesus into their lives. Pray against violence, wickedness and corruption. Make it a conscious habit to pray like this for the nation continually. Remember that God has given us—His Children—the dominion and authority to alter the course of events in the earth. It is our responsibility to see to it that the events and occurrences in our nation are consistent with the provisions of His will. We can achieve this as we take up the responsibility of prayer.

Prayer Dear Father, thank you for giving me the dynamic ability to cause changes. I pray today for our nation, that you take charge of our affairs and cause your peace to reign in our land! We pray against violence, corruption and other vices that cripple development, and declare progress for our nation, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Suffering Is Unnecessary

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world (Hebrews 4:3).

E

verything required for your success has already been provided by God. The works were finished from the foundation of the world. Now, when the Bible says the works were finished from the foundation of the world, as in the scripture above, it means you don’t have to struggle in life, for everything concerning your success, health and prosperity has been taken care of. You’ve entered God’s rest; you’re not called to suffer defeat in life. Everything you need for success and prosperity has been made available: “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3). For the Christian, suffering is absolutely unnecessary. If you’d pay attention to God’s Word and make certain to do what He says, you’d live a fulfilled life. Believe and receive this truth today with faith. You’ve been established on the path of success and victory. God did it ever before you came on the scene. He made you a success and ordained your prosperity before you were born. Nothing in this life is too good for you, for you’re the seed of Abraham, called to a life of power, glory and virtue.

Prayer Dear Lord and Father, I praise you and rejoice at your Word that has made me realize your eternal plans of success, prosperity, progress and victory for my life. I’m grateful to know that you’ve already ordained me to a life of victory and triumph, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Good Things Of Life Belong To You

Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21).

B

y boldly declaring, “All things are yours,” the Apostle Paul, by the Spirit of God is letting us know that God has given us the key to the whole world! We have access to all the vast resources of the earth. Thus there’s no need to be envious or fight others over what they have. In Psalm 24:1, the Bible says, “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” If God is your heavenly Father, it means you’re His heir and all that He owns belongs to you. The Word declares “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together” (Romans 8:16-17). So the question is: what are those things you think you’re in need of in your life? Once you identify them, instead of thinking they’re unattainable, or that they could only be gotten through some dishonest means, just ask the Lord in faith, in the Name of Jesus, and receive. The Bible says anyone who asks, receives. Understand that God doesn’t withhold good things from His children. He gives to all men liberally without reviling them (James 1:5). You need to live daily with the consciousness that nothing is impossible or too difficult for you to have, if you’ll only trust in the Lord. David understood this and said “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want....” (Psalms 32:1). All

things have been made available to you in Christ, reach out by faith today and begin to enjoy your inheritance.

Prayer Dear Father, I thank you for opening my eyes to the reality that all things are mine. I refuse to lack any good thing, knowing that the Lord is my shepherd, and I’ve been blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places, in Christ Jesus. Thank you Father for bringing me into a large place of abundance, where I prosper and all my needs are met, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

J

esus said in Luke 8:11 that the Word of God is seed. That means you were born of God’s incorruptible seed when you were born again. The word “seed” is translated from the Greek word “sperma.” That’s where the English word “sperm” came from. So the opening scripture should actually read: “being born again, not of a corruptible sperm, but of incorruptible, by the sperm of God which liveth and abideth forever.” Understand that when you’re born again, you’re born of God’s sperm–His Word. This is what makes you indestructible. The life in you is sickness, disease and death resistant. You have the very life of God, and that makes you supernatural. The same life that makes God Who He is, now flows in your spirit, soul and body. Your life is no longer dependent on the blood that flows through your physical body. The blood of man is the life of His flesh (Leviticus 17:11). But when you become a child of God by being born again you become a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17); your blood ceases to be what sustains your life. No wonder the Bible says, “…as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but

of God” (John 1:12-13). You’re born of God; you have the life of God in you. Therefore you cannot fail, you cannot be poor and you cannot be destroyed. The life in you is not susceptible to sickness, disease or infirmity. Jesus said, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19). He’s letting you know that you’re indestructible. Nothing, absolutely nothing can hurt or destroy you when you’re conscious of who you are in Christ.

Confession The indestructible life of God is in me, therefore, sickness, disease, lack and death can’t find place in my life. The life and nature of God in me makes me invincible and superhuman. I’m a product of God’s Word!

Pray That The Word May Have Free Course

So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed (Acts 19:20).

I

n 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2, the Apostle Paul asked for the saints to pray for him and other ministers with him that they may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men who were against the faith and the preaching of the Gospel: “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.” He wanted the Word of God to grow mightily and prevail amongst the Gentiles; how we need to pray such prayers in our nation today! When decrees or laws are enacted that are antiChristian or against the preaching of the Gospel, we must be aware that such things are done by unreasonable and wicked men who have found their way into power for their own selfish ends. But we can stop them in their tracks. As a matter of fact, God expects us to, because in the 3rd verse of 2 Thessalonians 3, we’re given the assurance that we have His attention when we pray against such: “But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.” There’s so much power in the Church, but we can’t discover the extent and potency of the power we possess with our mouths shut. For that power to be effective, we’re going to have to pray and declare what we want to see in our country. We’re not at the mercy of the evil

imaginations and machinations of unreasonable and wicked men, irrespective of the position they occupy. We have the divine authority to cause a change. All that’s necessary is for one righteous man or woman to be stirred enough to pray that the wicked acts, schemes, policies, and stratagems to frustrate God’s people and the preaching of the Gospel in the country be brought to naught. I challenge you today to be that righteous man or woman who will take a stand in prayer and not stop praying until the Word of God grows mightily and prevails in our nation.

Prayer Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for making me a person of influence, affecting many lives with the power of the gospel. My utmost desire today is to speak your Word with power to everyone around me, so that as they witness the mighty demonstrations of the Spirit, they’ll spread the news of your power to the ends of the earth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Be Polite To Others pastor anita

Let your speech at all times be gracious (pleasant and winsome), seasoned [as it were] with salt, [so that you may never be at a loss] to know how you ought to answer anyone [who puts a question to you] (Colossians 4:6 AMP).

F

or many in our country, acting in a polite and civil manner, after being exposed to protracted years of military rule is something to learn. Many are yet to learn the importance of the words “please,” “excuse me” and “thank you” in their communication with others. They are of the erroneous belief that being polite is a sign of weakness in one’s character, but that’s not true. Rather, being polite is something that reveals the strength of character. In James 3:13-14, the Bible says, “Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.” In essence, when you use the right words to address others, you’re actually displaying the wisdom of God that’s in you. But bitterness in the heart of man will produce harsh words and abusive communication. So, in relating with those around you, don’t use bitter, harsh or abusive words. Let your words reflect the presence of the Spirit of God that lives in you. Colossians 4:6 says, “Be gracious in your speech. The goal is to bring out the best in others in a conversation, not put them down or cut them out” (MSG). Let your words uplift, encourage, inspire, soothe and build. Don’t allow communication that could

inflict pain or stir strife or discord out of your lips. See others with the eyes of God and address them that way. Be humble in your communication (James 4:6). Don’t use hurtful words to address people and don’t raise your voice against them. Be courteous, respectful, and civil in your relationship with others.

Confession Dear Lord, I thank you for teaching me the importance of gracious communication that brings out the best in others! I reveal the excellence of the Spirit of God in my character today and always by choosing to be polite to those around me, eschewing hurtful and uncivil language, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

You’re Called To Lead

And don’t let anyone put you down because you’re young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity (1 Timothy 4:12 MSG).

The Christians are the stewards of the message of Christ. We’re the ones He has authorized to carry forth His message to the people and teach them the same. This means that the responsibility of leadership has been thrust upon us. Jesus has made us leaders; He’s made us lights to shine in our worlds and show others the way. To be a leader, you don’t necessarily have to be the head of an organization. Genesis 39:1-5 tells us about Joseph, who was a slave in the house of Potiphar, yet the Bible says he was a prosperous and effective man. He exhibited leadership qualities which distinguished him from all the other slaves and soon enough, he was put in charge of Potiphar’s whole estate. Your greatness isn’t in the definition of your assignment, but in the quality of your spirit; the excellence of your character. Thus even as a janitor, cleaner, or manager in an organization, you can be so exceptional, exemplary and inspiring. Make up your mind to be that one person that will excel in whatever he does. If you work for an organization, let your colleagues learn from you as they see you do more than you’re paid for. If you’re a politician, set an example for other politicians and be forthright. No matter your vocation, let your proficiency be a testimony of the

excellent spirit within you. As a parent, lay good examples for your children. Wherever you go, let people see your mark as a child of God. You’ve been sent to lead, therefore be that worthy example! Teach those in your home, school, neighbourhood and workplace how to live and do things right through your words, character, love, faith and integrity.

Prayer Dear Father, I thank you for making me a testimony and an example to everyone in my world! Today, through your grace and ability at work in me, I function with such an outstanding proficiency that everyone around me is inspired for excellence; and I’m teaching them how to live and do things right through my words, actions, character, love, faith and integrity, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

You’re God’s Peculiar Treasure

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light (1 Peter 2:9).

C

heck out God’s description of you in the scripture above! He says you’re chosen, royal and peculiar. You’re unique and special to God. You’re the most cherished and celebrated of all His creation. No wonder James said “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures (James 1:18). It means you’re the first and the best of everything God made. God chose you to be the one to show forth His praises and manifest His glory in the earth. You’re a special person. In the Old Testament, God made a promise to the children of Israel when He said, “Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people...” (Exodus 19:5). This promise was for the Old Testament folks that weren’t born again. However, when you were born again you became an obedient child of God (1 Peter 1:4) and as a result you became a peculiar treasure unto God. Now, it doesn’t matter whether the circumstances around you say otherwise, you’re God’s peculiar treasure. You’re the apple of His eyes. All your life, you may have thought you were ordinary and that there was nothing special about you, truth has come to you today. Before God, you’re precious, special and peculiar. He looks at you

as though you’re the only person that existed, and He loves you as though you’re the only one on earth. You must begin to walk, talk and live with the consciousness that you’re not an ordinary person; you’re a peculiar treasure to God! That’s why He paid such a high price—the blood of His Son, Jesus, to redeem you. Everyday, hold your head up with dignity and say, “I’m special to God; I’m His peculiar treasure and most priced possession.” Those around you may say you’re bragging but it doesn’t matter. Just keep calling yourself what God has called you in His Word. You’re His peculiar treasure.

Prayer Father, I thank you for making me a peculiar treasure unto you. I see myself the way you see me, I’m unique, special and peculiar. Thank you for redeeming me and purifying me unto yourself, a peculiar person, zealous of good works. Amen.

Effect The Change Through Prayer!

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you… (Acts 1:8).

T

here isn’t a thing you can’t change when you pray. The reason a lot of God’s children feel despondent and helpless when they go through difficult situations is that many don’t pray; and for those who pray, many do so amiss. Life may be replete with challenges and persecutions; however, as Christians, we need to realize that even when we’re going through such, we can still be filled with joy unspeakable and full of glory. Our continuous fellowship with the Lord through prayer helps us live in victory every single day. It’s high time you started praying, and it’s not difficult at all. As you continue in God’s Word, the Holy Spirit will guide you on how to pray. When you find yourself in difficult situations, first consider what the trouble is all about. Then, ask yourself, “Is it self-created or is someone trying to put me down?” For all you know, you may have unwittingly put yourself in that situation. When you discover the reason behind your problem, then it’s ‘half-solved.’ If the problem is you, make the necessary adjustments in your life! If it’s someone else, you can change things through prayer. Don’t sit there feeling sorry for yourself; go ahead and effect the necessary changes! Break out in tongues like you’ve never spoken

before and rejoice in the spirit. It makes no difference whether the problem was created by you or someone else, you can change it! Remember, your ability, strength, and confidence, are in God. Therefore, refuse to be a victim.

Confession I take a stand today against every opposition around me by praying and effecting necessary changes through the Holy Ghost. I refuse to be a victim of any circumstance or situation; rather, I live a life of joy unspeakable and full of glory. I live in victory today. Hallelujah.

You’re Abraham’s Seed

And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise (Galatians 3:29).

n

ow that you’re born again you’re Abraham’s seed and thus the inheritor of the Abrahamic blessings. I love the way the Living Bible puts it, “…now that we are Christ’s we are the true descendants of Abraham, and all of God’s promises to him belong to us” (Galatians 3:29). Your association with Christ has made you the real descendant of Abraham, and by extension the possessor of the blessings God conferred on him. As the seed of Abraham, nothing is too good for you. You’re blessed beyond measure. Failure, sickness, disease, lack and death are not consistent with your life anymore. It’s impossible for you to be poor or fail in life, because as Abraham’s seed, the works of your hands are blessed; you’re ordained to succeed. Fruitfulness and productivity have become your birthright. This is your heritage as the seed of Abraham. A lady once said, “I’ve been married for many years and I’ve not been able to have children; the doctor said I’m barren.” No! Not when you know that you’re the seed of Abraham! Abraham’s seed can’t be barren; it’s impossible. Medical instruments may detect that the womb had been removed, but the Bible says “…there shall not be male or female barren among you…” (Deuteronomy 7:14). For the seed of Abraham, anything is possible. The Bible tells the story of a certain woman who was

bent over for eighteen years. Jesus saw her in the synagogue and said, “Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond… (Luke 13:16)? He then tapped her on the back and said “Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity” (Luke 13:12). Immediately, she was healed. Why? Abraham’s seed ought not be bound by sickness, disease or infirmity! If you’re reading this and you’ve been experiencing any form of sickness, disease or infirmity, recognize that you’re Abraham’s seed; hence you ought not be bound by stroke, blindness, deafness, lameness, poverty or any other form of infirmity.

Prayer Dear Father, I thank you for making me the inheritor of the blessings of Abraham through my association with Christ. I’m prospering and living in the manifestation of your infinite blessings because I’m Abraham’s seed. I’m an heir according to the promise and a joint-heir with Jesus, I’m blessed in the city, I am blessed in the field, and in my going out and in my coming in! I am blessed to be a blessing!

Prayer of salvation

e trust you have been blessed by this devotional. We invite you to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life by praying thus:

“O Lord God, I come to You in the Name of Jesus Christ. Your Word says, “...whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:21). I ask Jesus to come into my heart to be the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit and according to Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved,” I declare that I am saved; I am born-again; I am a child of God! I now have Christ dwelling in me, and greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world! (1 John 4:4). I now walk in the consciousness of my new life in Christ Jesus.
