Present Perfect Review

Time: 15 Minutes

Description:

A handout to help students review the present perfect tense.

Language Point:

Present Perfect How to form the present perfect: Subject +have+ Past Participle Example: (“ I have just read a book.” or She has just read a book.)

Preparation:

Make copies of the handout for your students.

Instructions:

Review the present perfect tense with your students. It might be useful to use a real example to demonstrate the meaning to your students. For example: Show students your snack ( a cookie or small piece of fruit.) Eat the snack and then say, “ I have just eaten my snack.”

After reviewing the present perfect tense, give each student a handout. Students should work alone to complete the handout. Give your students 10 to 15 minutes to complete the handout. Check the answers as a class. Ask some students to read their answers to section C of the handout.
