2000 Final Snapshot • Surplus of $75,000 on revenues of $260,000 • 515 paying registrants from 22 countries • Excellent sponsorship, 29 industrial display exhibitors • 320 technical presentations, published on CD-ROM (a CSCE first!). • Canada Southern Railway Bridge in St. Thomas made a National Historic Site.

Technical Committee Activities • Solicit papers – Draft Call for Papers – Nominate chairs for themed sessions

Sponsorships and Industrial Display Committee • Plan campaign – Sponsorship and Industrial Display packages – List of potential sponsors, contacts
• Follow up with potential sponsors or displayers • Co-ordinate displays and sponsorship recognition with Local Activities and Publicity Committees
Registration Committee • Co-ordinate on-line registration (hopefully with National Office) • Convention Centre and registration desk signage • Staff registration desk
Local Arrangements and Social Events • Co-ordinate hotel, conference centre, AV arrangements with National Office. • Organize offsite event, companion’s program, historic site plaque unveiling • Co-ordinate luncheons – piper, head table guests, speaker logistics, etc.
Publicity and Publications • Maintain conference website • Oversee theme artwork • Co-ordinate quotes for (and production of) conference program, book of abstracts, electronic proceedings • Anything else required to create a buzz!
Historic Site Committee • In collaboration with the CSCE National History Committee: – Identify site(s) to be celebrated as CSCE National (or Regional) Historic Sites – Prepare supporting documentation for site approval by the National History Committee – Draft plaque for approval – Co-ordinate plaque unveiling.
Financial Aspects • $10,000 Seed money from CSCE National Office – must be repaid • Profit or loss – National Office: 70% – Region: 10% – Local Section: 20%
• For surplus exceeding $30,000 – National Office: 50% – Region: 20% – Local Section: 30%
