On Monday, September 10th, 2018, at approximately 6:30 p.m., San Bruno Police Officers responded to a report of suspects casing vehicles for possible burglaries in the parking lot of Tanforan Mall. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect vehicle in the parking lot, near JC Penney’s. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but it failed to yield and rammed an occupied San Bruno Police vehicle head-on. No officers or suspects were injured as a result of the collision. The suspect vehicle was later determined to have been embezzled. The occupants of the suspect vehicle then fled on foot through the Tanforan Mall parking lot. A brief foot pursuit ensued and two of the occupants were apprehended. A search of the suspects, their vehicle, and a local hotel room they were renting, revealed numerous stolen identification cards and credit cards. 27-year-old Donjuan Goode of El Cerrito was booked into San Mateo County Jail for charges related to felony evading, felony assault, possession of an embezzled vehicle, and identity theft.
