SETTING UP YOUR MILL Building and setting up your mill isn’t rocket science – Most owners handle it in a weekend. And you’ve probably already got all the tools you need: Combination and allen wrenches, phillips screwdriver, ratchet wrench with set of sockets, grease gun, adjustable wrench. If you can use these tools, you’ve got all that’s needed to assemble a Norwood. To help you put it together, we give you a fully illustrated manual that leads you, step-by-step, through the whole process. It’s packed with exploded diagrams, cutaways, photographs and checklists – all written in plain English. And we back it up with unlimited toll-free support – from the moment your Norwood arrives, through the first trial cuts, through to full production and beyond.

If you would like to receive your saw carriage pre-assembled, simply call TOLL-FREE at 1-800-567-0404. The main frame components will be assembled right at the factory and shipped direct to you on an oversized 4’ x 8’ pallet, with the log deck unassembled to keep shipment volume, and cost, to a minimum. Factory-assembly of entire mill also available.** ** Departure from Norwood could require an additional one to three weeks. A nominal assembly charge will apply. Freight costs are higher to ship a partially or fully assembled mill due to increased volume. Where saw carriage ships pre-assembled, assembly of log deck and some final assembly of saw carriage components still required.


HOW TO RECEIVE YOUR ORDER Shipment in the U.S.A. & Canada: In the U.S.A. and Canada, Norwood band sawmills and oversize orders ship by common-carrier freight truck directly to your residence or business so it’s important that your delivery address is easily accessible to a tractor-trailer. Shipped in knock-down form, we package oversize orders on a 4’ x 4’ (1.2m x 1.2m) and 4’ x 6’ (1.2m x 1.8m) pallets, and band and stretch-wrap your order for secure shipping. Most trucking companies require the driver to bring the shipment to the back of the truck. Because sawmill orders consist of individual pieces and boxes each weighing no more than 100 lbs., you can offload your order piece by piece and do not necessarily need special forklift equipment. If you cannot manage weights up to 100 lbs., you may want a helper to assist you to unload your order. You or your designated agent must be present to accept the order and off-load it. If no one is at the delivery address to accept the order, re-delivery and storage charges may apply. After your order has shipped, you may want to call the trucking company to confirm date of delivery; call us to obtain your carrier name and phone number, shipment tracking number and ship date.

Pick-Up in the U.S.A. & Canada If you would like to pick-up your sawmill or forestry equipment order direct from one of Norwood’s factory warehouses, please call us toll-free at 1-800-567-0404 three (3) business days in advance so that we can have your order ready. You will need a pick-up truck, full-size van or enclosed trailer to pick up your sawmill or oversized order.
