Submission Guidelines Princeton Architectural Press publishes books on architecture, landscape architecture, graphic design, and visual culture. Most, although not all, have a visual or graphic component. Although we are willing to review any design related proposal, some topics fall outside our current line: these include technical manuals and books of purely academic interest, such as unaltered masters or doctoral theses. If you are not sure whether your manuscript fits into our publishing program, please view a copy of our current catalog. Please note that we only accept electronic submissions. All elements of the submission must be in PDF format. We will only reply to complete proposals. A complete proposal contains the following: 1. Proposal Cover Sheet 2. Project Description (not to exceed 1 standard, 8 1/2 by 11-inch page, double-spaced, set in 12 pt. type) Please describe the scope and central themes of your project. Please discuss the process of creating your book or the methodology of your research. 3. Annotated Table of Contents Please list all elements of your book in the order in which you would like them to appear. Describe the essential content or argument presented in each element or chapter. 4. Sample Text For books containing multiple chapters by a single author, we prefer to review the introduction and two representative chapters, complete with footnotes and keyed illustrations. For monographs, please include an illustrated list of projects to be included in the book, project descriptions and illustrations for two representative projects, and the introductory essay (if already written). For English translations of foreign editions, please include a sample translation of sufficient length and content to give us a firm idea of the book’s central premise and tone. If the book has not yet been written, please include a writing sample by the author, preferably on a related topic and created for a similar audience. 5. Sample Illustrations For most projects, 20 to 30 representative images will provide us with a general sense of your book’s graphic potential. Please provide captions or identifying information for the images. 6. Detailed CV Please label your files in the same numerical order as above (01_Title_Cover Sheet.pdf; 02_Title_Description.pdf; 03_Title_TOC.pdf; 04_Title_Text.pdf; 05_Title_Images.pdf; 06_Title_CV.pdf). Please send your proposal to [email protected]. If your proposal is under 25MB you may send it directly via email; if your proposal is larger we recommend using WeTransfer. The editorial board reviews proposals on a monthly basis. Please be advised that it may take up to two months for us to reply to your initial submission; longer, should your proposal require further review. Please be assured that all proposals are treated with the utmost confidentiality, and any ideas or materials submitted to us remain the intellectual property of the author. If you have any further questions regarding the guidelines for submitting your proposal, please contact us. Thank you for your interest in publishing with Princeton Architectural Press. We look forward to reviewing your proposal.
